Hilary Duff and Aaron Carter were Disney royalty in the early 00s, and their relationship as teens made headlines. Decades later, it seems like the bond between them carried on past earth. The singer recently revealed that he visited her through a psychic medium.
Duff was a guest on Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers‘ podcast, Las Culturistas, when they started talking about psychics. She said she spent three weeks trying to find a specific medium who does the work for free. “This is not my job. This has been a curse for me my whole life,” she recalled the woman telling her.
The medium would get visions since she was a child, “Her family, other people in her family have the gift. I guess when she was in school, she’d look at the teacher and be like, ‘You and your husband are going to get a divorce,’” Duff explained.
The psychic didn’t know who she was talking to and told Duff once they got on the call, “Oh, you have such bright energy! I’m so excited to talk to you today!” When they started reading, the medium told her, “People are gonna start showing up for you, and there’s someone here, Aaron, two As, Aaron.”
© GettyShocked, Duff responded, “Is it, Aaron Carter?” Confused, the medium said, “Sure is! What the hell’s he doing here?” “Well, that’s my childhood boyfriend, and that would make sense to me,” Duff said, which made the medium realize who she was on the phone with, asking, “Are you, Hilary Duff?”
Duff didn’t explain further what Aaron shared from beyond the grave, but she did reveal that she is still close to his twin sister, Angel. “Our kids go to the same school, she is a lovely, literal angel person,” she shared. “We’re very close. We talk about Aaron often.”
Hilary and Aaron’s past
Hilary and Aaron dated from 2000 to 2003, and there was some juicy drama, like a love triangle and a feud between her and Lindsay Lohan. Carter admitted to cheating on Duff with her best friend, Lohan. “I ended up cheating on Hilary with her best friend,” Aaron said in an interview with Donny Deutsch. “That’s nothing to smile about. She really got her heart broken by me, and I’m sorry for that.”
© GettyDuff even called Lohan her “childhood nemesis” on an episode of Call Her Daddy with Alex Cooper. Thankfully, they squashed their beef at the club. She told Cooper. “Lindsay came up to me at a club and was like, ‘Are we good?’ And I was like, ‘We’re good.’ She was like, ‘Let’s take a shot.’ I was like, ‘OK.’”
© GettyAaron would sadly pass away in November 2022 at the age of 34. He drowned in the bathtub after taking generic Xanax and huffing. His tell-all memoir, co-written by Andy Symonds, was published days later with allegations that he and Duff lost their virginities to each other when they were around 12-13 years old. Duff slammed the memoir, telling Daily Mail it was “disgusting” and an “uninformed, heartless, money grab.”
Aaron referred to Duff as the “love of her life” before his passing. “I don’t know who she is today, she doesn’t know who I am today, but I would sweep her off her feet if I ever got a chance to again and fix what I did wrong,” he said back in 2014.
