Bad Bunny made music history during his 2026 Super Bowl halftime show by being the first Hispanic solo act to perform on one of the biggest stages in the world.
He set the stage for his electric 12-minute-long performance by breaking the fourth wall and looking directly into camera, and told the audience: “Y si hoy estoy en el Super Bowl 60 es porque nunca, nunca dejé de creer en mí,” which translates to: “If I’m here at the Super Bowl, it’s because I never, ever stopped believing in myself.”
After inspiring viewers, he officially kicked off his highly-anticipated set with the hit song “Tití Me Preguntó.”
His energetic halftime show impressively had between 135-142.3 million views.
Bad Bunny also made history by being the most watched halftime show after Kendrick Lamar took the stage last year and had over 133.5 million viewers.
The rapper transparently shared his mindset during a press conference, on Thursday before he took the stage on Sunday and said: “I’m just trying to enjoy it. I know I’m gonna have fun. All the crew, all the people, they’re going to have fun that day. That’s what I’m trying to focus [on], just enjoy the moment, enjoy what is happening, what I’m doing, and trying not to [feel] pressure.”
Despite the halftime show spot being a coveted gig to get for most A-listers, the dream come true wasn’t necessarily a goal for the artist.
He revealed: “I was never looking for this. My biggest pleasure is to create, have fun doing it and connect with the people. When I drop a song and people connect with me, that’s the best feeling. And that’s what I’m always looking [for] every time I’m at the studio working. That’s why I always work with friends, because to me, it’s a very intimate space.”
The new year has just begun and it’s already been a life changing and historical year for the artist.
His halftime show performance came exactly a week after he took home the Grammy Award for Best Album of the Year, which was also unexpected for the rapper.
He explained: “I think [DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS] one of the most special project[s] I’ve done, because it brought me to [the halftime show]. I wasn’t looking for the album of the year at the Grammys, also at the Latin Grammys. I also wasn’t looking to perform at [the] Super Bowl halftime show, and I just was looking [to] connect with my roots, connect with my people more than ever, connect with myself, with my history, with my culture.”
Bad Bunny paid tribute to that special moment during his performance, by featuring a young version of himself, portrayed by Lincoln Fox, who watched his older self receive his Grammy award on stage from his living room alongside his parents.
The singer then patted Lincoln on the head and presented him with his actual Grammy, as the little boy smiled.
The All-American Halftime Show got over 6.1 million views on Turning Point USA’s YouTube channel.
