It’s 2026, and awards season is officially here. The 83rd annual Golden Globe is right around the corner, and it’s gearing up to keep its title as “Hollywood’s Party of the Year.” This year is shaping up to be global, competitive, and full of surprises, once again proving why the Globes remain Hollywood’s most glamorous (and unpredictable) night. Here’s everything to know about one of the biggest evenings in film, television, and now podcasting.

When to watch

  •  Sunday, January 11, 2026
  •  8–11 PM ET / 5–8 PM PT

How to watch

The Golden Globes will air live on CBS and stream on Paramount+. Premium subscribers can watch live through their local CBS affiliate, while Essential subscribers can stream it on demand the following day. The ceremony will be broadcast in more than 185 countries and territories worldwide.

Nikki Glaser is returning as a host

Nikki Glaser returns to host the Golden Globes for the second consecutive year, and she’s undoubtedly bringing her sharp, unfiltered, fearless stand-up and roast-heavy humor.

The comedian brings a more modern, comedy-first energy to the ceremony with self-awareness, pop culture, and jokes that actually land. Her comeback confirms the Globes are sticking with a host who understands today’s audience and isn’t afraid to keep the room on its toes.

“My goal is always to try not do what’s expected or try to challenge myself to not say the thing that people are going to expect and try something else,” she told PEOPLE about her role as hostess.

This year’s honorary awards

Two major honors will be presented ahead of the main ceremony during a new primetime special.

The Cecil B. DeMille Award

Recipient: Helen Mirren

A three-time Golden Globe winner, Helen Mirren is being recognized for a career defined by range and longevity.  She’s earned critical acclaim without ever being boxed in: from regal historical figures to modern, complex women, Mirren has spent decades moving effortlessly between film, television, and stage.

The Carol Burnett Award

Recipient: Sarah Jessica Parker

The Carol Burnett Award honors excellence in television both in front of and behind the camera, and Sarah Jessica Parker fits the bill on every level. Best known for shaping modern TV culture through Sex and the City, Parker’s influence extends far beyond acting. As a producer, she’s a creative force that has helped usher in more nuanced, female-driven storytelling.

Both awards will be presented during Golden Eve, a new primetime special airing Thursday, January 8, 2026, on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.
