Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin’s daughter, Apple Martin, is speaking up about the “mean girl” rumors that started after her high society debut at the Le Bal des Debutantes in Paris. The 20-year-old was accused of not having a friendly attitude with the rest of the debutants.
Apple revealed that she is aware of the rumors after appearing in a TikTok video with two of her friends, using a popular audio. “I mean… I don’t know how anyone has a problem with us,” Apple says, while her friend mouths, “We are such a delight we are two of the funniest girls.”
The audio continues, “And I know us offline when I tell you there aren’t two more generous charitable kind…” Apple was part of a group of 20 girls making their debut at the exclusive event, and rumors grew stronger after a clip of Apple surfaced online, where she can be seen getting in the photo of another debutante.
“Oh wow, why did Apple do that? Let the other girl have a moment,” one person commented, while someone else wrote, “That looked obnoxious, but she probably was joking,” adding, “Oh gosh they’re obviously friends and the girl in black was stepping out of frame anyways. She’s acting her age.”
Other online users described Apple’s behavior as “Regina George,” while a close source told the Daily Mail that she is not a “mean girl.” “She would never mean to take the spotlight from anyone, that was not her intention. To characterize her as a mean girl is very untrue,” the insider said.
“She really had such a wonderful evening and I feel bad that this is even taking away from that because it was such an uplifting evening for her and the other girls,” the source told the publication.
