Christina Aguilera and fiancé Matthew Rutler have been engaged since 2014, and this Valentine’s Day, they celebrated their 12th engagement anniversary.
The “Dirty” singer took to social media to share a carousel of the duo’s memorable moments over the years.
Her main picture featured the pair romantically enjoying a boat ride, while taking in the sun’s rays.
Other shots included them posing by the Eiffel tower on a night out in Paris, comically going on a carousel ride together, and the entertainer gushing over a sweet bouquet from her partner.
Christina captioned the set: “Happy valentine’s day to the world’s best sailing buddy.”
Fans loved the wholesome carousel and flocked to the comments. One person wrote: “Best couple. Happy Valentine’s Day my Love,” while another fan wrote: “MOM AND DAD.” A third follower continued: “Imagine your wife is Christina Aguilera. Good job mate.”
The duo first met in 2009 during the film Burlesque, in which Christina starred in and Matthew was a production assistant on set, and they began dating a year later.
Despite Christina filing for divorce from her ex-husband Jordan Bratman, she revealed that she didn’t rule love out thanks to her budding relationship with Matthew at the time.
She revealed to People: “There’s a love there, yes. I’m having fun, I’m dating and it’s something I haven’t had in a really long time.”
Christina shared that she was still “wholeheartedly” a believer in marriage. She added: “I know one day I’ll be able to feel that again for someone. That idea will never die.”
The actress has publicly gushed about her partner and expressed: “Matthew is a special person. We had a really strong friendship on the movie. He’s the kind of person you could spend hours on the phone talking to and all of a sudden, it’s daylight.”
She added: “I’m not trying to jump into anything. I just left a five-year marriage. I’m taking it slow and trying to be happy.”
They got engaged on Valentine’s Day in 2014, and in August, they welcomed their daughter Summer Rain. She is also a mother to her son Max Liron Bratman with her ex-husband in 2008.
As for when the couple will finally tie the knot, Christina is not in a hurry. She told People in 2015: “Having just moved into a beautiful new home we call ‘the Sanctuary,’ having a baby, and now being so excited to get back to work [on The Voice], I have my hands full, and am not in a rush to set a date. I want to plan it and cherish the moment, while not feeling rushed.”
