Donald Trump’s granddaughter Kai Trump gave fans a tour of the rather luxurious home she returns to after a long day of college classes and golf practice.
The 19-year-old has officially begun her freshman year at the University of Miami, where she is balancing her studies with life as a Division I athlete on the university’s women’s golf team.
While many freshmen are adjusting to life in cramped college dorms, Kai has settled into a spacious two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment, which she proudly showed off in a new video on her popular YouTube channel.
“I’m very, very lucky to have this, obviously as a freshman,” she acknowledged during the tour. “I’m very lucky to have this apartment. It’s amazing.”
The teenager is the eldest of Donald Trump Jr. and ex-wife Vanessa Trump’s five children and the eldest grandchild of President Donald Trump.
Inside Kai Trump’s luxury college apartment
Kai’s contemporary home features an open-plan kitchen dominated by a large white island, which she has surrounded with metallic silver bar stools.
The sleek appliances are cleverly concealed behind dark wood cabinetry, while the kitchen flows directly into a spacious living area furnished with a huge white sectional sofa, gray cushions, a patterned rug and a second loveseat.

Despite its polished appearance, Kai has made sure her new home has some sentimental touches. Black-and-white prints referencing Aspen hang on the walls alongside photographs of family and friends, including a framed image of Kai playing golf with her grandfather.
© Youtube“I love it,” she said. “It’s really nice coming home to no one, and after a long day on the golf course, it’s always nice to just chill here and do nothing.”
Kai Trump’s emotional start to college
The impressive apartment may provide plenty of home comforts, but leaving her family behind has proved surprisingly difficult for the teenager.
In an earlier vlog documenting her first week at Miami, Kai became tearful while preparing to leave her family and friends in Jupiter.
“I’ve been, like, literally sobbing,” she admitted, explaining that she hadn’t expected the move to affect her so much because she doesn’t consider herself particularly emotional.
© YouTubeHer mom Vanessa helped her move into the apartment and accompanied her on a mammoth shopping trip to get everything ready. Kai later paid tribute to her mom on social media, calling her “the BEST mom.”
Her first week didn’t exactly go to plan either. Between classes, athletic meetings and golf practice, Kai admitted that she hadn’t been eating properly, prompting her friend Emma to arrive at her apartment armed with frozen meals, fruit, prosciutto, pasta and bread.
Kai then came down with strep throat and a sinus infection and headed back to Jupiter, telling viewers: “I came all the way back to Jupiter because I was so sick I needed my mom to nurse me back to health.” She subsequently returned to Miami and appears to be settling into her new routine.
Kai Trump’s college golf career
Golf is far more than a hobby for Kai.The University of Miami’s official roster lists her as a freshman for the 2026-27 season and details an impressive junior career that included competing on the Srixon Medalist Tour, AJGA and South Florida PGA circuits.
She finished runner-up at the 2025 Major Championship at Village Golf Course and helped her high school team secure four consecutive district titles.
Kai officially signed with Miami in November 2025 after first announcing her commitment in 2024. She said of her decision: “I love the coaches. It’s close to home. Great school. I love the people there.”
She added: “My cousins went there as well, so I know people that have gone there. You know, it’s a great university and I’m looking forward playing for them.”

The photograph of Kai and her grandfather displayed in her new apartment is particularly fitting given that golf has played a major role in their relationship. Kai has said she began playing at just two years old and has credited her grandfather with helping foster her love of the sport.
When she originally announced her college commitment, she thanked her parents for supporting her journey before adding: “I would like to thank my grandpa for giving me access to great courses and tremendous support.”
Despite the extraordinary circumstances surrounding her family, Kai insists their relationship is surprisingly ordinary behind closed doors. Asked last year what it was like being the granddaughter of the President of the United States, she replied: “To me he’s just a normal grandpa. Always has been.”
“It’s nothing… I would just say it’s like having a normal grandpa. There is nothing different I would say. It’s pretty cool obviously, but to me it’s just normal.”
