Lauren Sánchez Bezos shared her refreshingly honest take on motherhood and the idea of having a baby with husband Jeff Bezos. During a recent interview with The New York Times, the Emmy-winning journalist, helicopter pilot, and former news anchor, 56, didn’t hold back when the topic of children came up.
“I would have another one tomorrow. Tomorrow,” Lauren said, leaning into her love for babies with unmistakable enthusiasm. She doubled down with, “I would have a baby tomorrow,” making it clear just how much joy she associates with motherhood.
Not a Pregnancy Announcement
While her words quickly sparked curiosity, a spokesperson stepped in to clarify that Lauren is not expecting a child. The comment, though lighthearted, revealed her enduring passion for raising children and the fulfillment she finds in family life.
For many women in their 50s, conversations about motherhood tend to look backward. Lauren flips that narrative forward, embracing possibility, even if hypothetically. If Lauren ultimately decides to have another baby, she will be part of the latest statistics. For the first time in U.S. history, more women over 40 are giving birth, according to a 2025 CDC report.
Inside Lauren and Jeff’s Blended Family Life
Lauren and Jeff Bezos officially tied the knot on June 27 in a glamorous, star-filled wedding in Venice, Italy. Together, they now share a blended family of seven children from previous relationships. While both have built global careers, their family dynamic remains a central part of their lives.
Lauren, in particular, has often spoken about how much she values motherhood. Her latest comments reinforce that identity.
Recently, the media personality also revealed that she was “bawling” during her June 27, 2025, wedding, after an emotional round of speeches from the couple’s children left her overwhelmed.
Speaking in an interview with Extra, Sánchez Bezos reflected on the intimate family moments that unfolded just before the vows. “All of our kids gave speeches, mine and Jeff’s, and they were all so meaningful,” Lauren told the outlet. “My daughter gave a speech during the ceremony, this was before we said our vows, and [I] started bawling. Like, I could not- I’m like, ‘Oh, my gosh’ right before the pictures.”
The ceremony took place on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice, Italy. Over 200 guests gathered for the lavish celebration. Lauren shares three children from previous relationships: son Nikko, 25, with former NFL star Tony Gonzalez, son Evan, 19, and daughter Ella, 18, with ex-husband Patrick Whitesell. Bezos, the Amazon founder, shares three sons and a daughter with his ex-wife, MacKenzie Scott.
