Crime drama fans, listen up! The gripping series, Strangers, is now available to binge-watch on ITVX – and it sounds brilliant.
The eight-part conspiracy thriller, which first aired on ITV in 2018 and was originally titled White Dragon, has been added to ITVX’s ‘Fresh In’ collection.
John Simm leads the cast as Professor Jonah Mulray, who is devastated when he finds out his wife has been killed in a car crash in Hong Kong. After making a shocking discovery, Jonah is determined to uncover the truth about her death.
You know you’re in safe hands when John Simm is on the screen. The Doctor Who actor clearly knows a good script when he sees one, having starred in acclaimed dramas such as Grace and Life on Mars.
Plus, the series is penned by Mark Denton and Jonny Stockwood, who both have writing credits on Apple TV’s award-winning thriller, Slow Horses, while Paul Andrew Williams (Broadchurch) directed the show.

What is Strangers about?
The story follows Professor Jonah Mulray, whose world is turned upside down when his wife, Megan, is killed in a car crash in Hong Kong.
Although Megan lived and worked there for half the year, Jonah has never visited. His fear of flying has kept him in London, where he lives a sheltered life. Now, he must venture across the ocean to identify her body. But once he arrives, Jonah makes a shocking discovery about his wife.
A synopsis continues: “Over the course of eight thrilling hours, Jonah is drawn deeper and deeper into a web of conspiracy as he comes to terms with this utterly alien and unfamiliar environment, battling to uncover the truth about his wife’s death.”
