Ivanka Trump is a businesswoman. Over the years, Trump has served numerous roles and tried out new things with her career, from the White House to companies devised to reduce waste. Planet Harvest is one of these businesses, launched with her business partner, Melissa Melshenker Ackerman, in the hopes of producing more efficient food supply chain programs.
Ackerman was recently featured on The Skinny Confidential podcast, sharing some of Ivanka’s best skills as a businesswoman.
“She is amazing,” she said. “Her advice and her ability to help me stay focused and keep on with the topics we’re trying to do were amazing. On top of the fact that I just think that her vision and visionary sense to think so much bigger and be able to help is something that people maybe know about her, but I can speak from how she built this business with me.”
Ackerman said that Trump expanded her vision, helping their business grow faster and more effectively. “I might think about building 10 cities, and she’s thinking about hitting 200 cities within a year.”
She also revealed that Ivanka cares primarily about the people and how their business and help them and deliver on its promises. “The other thing that sits with me the most is that when we talk about our monthly meetings, what’s most important to her is who are we impacting? How many farmers are we impacting? How many pounds are we bringing into the system? How many people are we delivering free foods and vegetables?”
“Those impact numbers are what drive her,” she said. “She makes you think big, dream big, and then act big.” You can check out the full clip below.
More details about Planet Harvest
Planet Harvest was founded by Ackerman and Trump in 2023 as a for-profit company that connects farmers with retailers and food companies in order to reduce agricultural waste.
To achieve this, Planet Harvest partners with food companies, using surplus crops in products, and providing curated, and healthy food boxes for community wellness and other programs.
“So many of the challenges we face today — from rising healthcare costs and chronic disease to food waste and the pressure on small farmers — can be traced to a common root: how we grow, distribute, and access our food,” she said in a statement in 2023. Planet Harvest aligns with her mission to make an impact on the world.
