Jack Osbourne has welcomed a daughter. In a new post shared on Instagram, Osbourne revealed that he and his wife, Aree Osbourne, had welcomed their fifth child. The baby girl’s name is a tribute to Jack’s father, the late Ozzy Osbourne.
Osbourne, 40, shared his daughter’s full name in the post’s caption, showing the side of his baby’s face in black and white. She’s seen lying next to a circular sheet with the baby’s full information. “Introducing Ozzy Matilda Osbourne,” he captioned the post.
She was lying next to a bat plushy, another reference to her grandfather, who memorably bit into a bat in one of his concert performances. In an Instagram story, Osbourne shared more details about his daughter. “She’s arrived and she’s perfect,” he wrote.
Aree also shared a post introducing her daughter. “Our Ozzy Matilda Osbourne has landed earthside.”
More details about Ozzy’s death
Ozzy Osbourne died in July of last year. He was 76 years old and had been battling Parkinson’s disease. He’s survived by six kids from his two marriages and his wife, Sharon Osbourne.
He was the father of Jessica, Louis, and Elliot, whom he adopted. He shares three kids with Sharon: Aimee, Kelly, and Jack.
In past months, Jack has opened up about his father’s death and how difficult the loss has been. “There was a level of like, ‘OK, he’s not suffering anymore. He’s not struggling,'” he said in a YouTube video. “And that is something.”
“I wish he was still here. I wish he was still with us all. But he was having a rough go, and I think people saw that at the show. But no one expected it to happen as quickly as it did, and when it did. It was not anything that was on our radar.”
He’s also discussed Ozzy’s loss in the podcast “Hate To Break It To Ya,” revealing that, even though Ozzy had been sick for some time, the death still came as a surprise. “We weren’t expecting it to be as quick as it was. I think he was done,” he said. “The morning that he passed, it wasn’t anything dramatic at all. He was up, he was doing his thing, had some breakfast, and that was it.”
