It’s the 82nd annual Venice Film Festival, and the stars have been dressed to impress and ready to enjoy movie magic at the red carpet premieres. But it hasn’t been all fashion and art – on August 30, there was a bit of drama between Jacob Elordi and a security guard.
The Euphoria star, 28, was greeting fans at the world premiere of the highly anticipated Frankenstein when it appeared a guard was trying to get him to stop taking pictures with fans.
In a clip shared to TikTok, Elordi is seen telling the official, “I’m going to take a picture right here,” before snapping, “Don’t ever tell me what to do.”
The video has sparked some mixed reactions. While the TikToker who posted it said Elordi was “so nice” and took photos with everyone he could, many commenters weren’t impressed, saying the guard was just trying to do his job.
“That was really super rude of Elordi,” one wrote. Another added, “I find it to be a little disrespectful towards the old man trying to do his job unless they have an understanding, which may be a friendly reminder while being occupied by fans.”
A fan took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share one of the selfies he snapped with them and share more insight into the situation. “Jacob elordi telling security to basically f*ck off while he took our picture because they were rushing him inside,” they wrote.
After the brief interaction, it was back to business. Elordi looked great, wearing a classic black suit and bowtie. He joined director Guillermo del Toro, Oscar Isaac, and the rest of the cast and the screening ended with a long 13-minute standing ovation, leaving Elordi in tears.
