Jamie Lee Curtis got personal with her fans on Monday when she shared a snap of her Victoria’s Secret bra in support of her goddaughter, Maggie Gyllenhaal. The veteran actress took to Instagram to post the picture, which saw Jamie sitting in a car dressed in a patterned brown shirt.
She shared a glimpse of her bra in the photo and explained the reason behind the unexpected post in the caption. “My goddaughter @mgyllenhaal has made @thebridemovie an audacious, bold, punk, feminist, opera of a movie, and she sent me some lingerie, which is one of the partnerships with @victoriassecret,” she wrote.
“And I wore it today to support my money makers as well as her movie, and couldn’t figure out how to show her my support, so this was the best I could do in a limo driving around New York City,” she continued, before adding that she was “proud” of Maggie’s achievement.
“It is also very Dorothy Farinelli, which is why I’m in New York, which is to promote the TV show #Scarpetta that I’m producing and co-starring in with @nicolekidman,” she concluded, referring to the upcoming crime thriller set for release on March 11.
Fans took to the comment section to share the love, with one joking: “Now we know why Michael Myers been chasing u [sic] for 46 years,” while another added: “I hope to look like you in my 50s.”
“Miss. Curtis….Miss. CURTIS!!” said another, while actress Rita Wilson chimed in: “Go Jamie!!!!” Maggie, who is an acclaimed actress in her own right, directed the upcoming film The Bride!, which is loosely based on the story of Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. The film collaborated with lingerie brand Victoria’s Secret to create a line of gothic romance-inspired pieces ahead of its release.
The Bride! marks Maggie’s second directorial project, after she was nominated for the Best Adapted Screenplay at the 2022 Oscars for The Lost Daughter.

“Proud and impressed pride is something when you know somebody as a child,” Jamie told E! News of her goddaughter. “But when you are impressed by them, when you respect them so much for their choices, for their ability, that’s a real thrill for me.”
The Halloween actress is friends with Maggie’s parents, screenwriter and producer Naomi Gyllenhaal, and director Stephen Gyllenhaal, and is also the godmother of Maggie’s brother, Jake Gyllenhaal. She even lived next to the Brokeback Mountain star during the pandemic.
“Getting to watch people that you meet when they’re very young develop into artists is a particular thrill,” Jamie shared on Instagram. “I can’t imagine what Jake and Maggie’s parents feel like, or, for that matter, what my parents must’ve felt like when I, too, began to dabble in the dark arts of films and television.”
Jamie is busy promoting her latest project, Scarpetta, which follows Nicole Kidman as Dr Kay Scarpetta, a forensic pathologist who solves crimes. The 67-year-old co-starred on the show as Kay’s sister, Dorothy Farinelli, and also produced the series.
“I wanted to be a producer for a very long time…and when I turned 60, I woke up one day and thought if not now, when? If not me, who? I have stuff to do, I’d better do it,” she said on the Today show.
