Jennifer Garner and John Miller are making a very strong case for being Hollywood’s most low-key couple on the road to the altar. Garner, 54, and her longtime boyfriend stepped out together in Brentwood, California, on Sunday, August 9, 2026, spending another weekend side by side as they took their dogs for a walk. 

The relaxed outing comes at an especially interesting moment for the couple, with engagement speculation surrounding Garner and Miller gaining fresh momentum.

In the new photos, the “13 Going on 30” star kept her Sunday look firmly in California-casual territory. Garner wore black leggings with blue piping, a gray “Hug a Farmer” T-shirt, striped socks and beige sneakers. She topped off the outfit with a blue baseball cap and dark sunglasses while holding the leash of a yellow Labrador.

Miller matched Garner’s laid-back mood, and even coordinated with her in a gray T-shirt of his own, worn with jeans and casual boots. He walked a smaller dark-colored dog as the pair made their way along a dusty trail near San Vicente Mountain Park.

The August 9 outing adds to a notable run of public appearances for the couple.

Garner and Miller were photographed on a hiking date in Brentwood wearing coordinating gray graphic T-shirts. According to InStyle, the outing followed a rare dinner date at Fia in Santa Monica less than a week earlier. 

That run of sightings is significant for a couple who have spent much of their romance away from Hollywood’s usual publicity cycle.

Garner and Miller were first linked in 2018. They separated in 2020 before rekindling their relationship in 2021, and they have largely maintained a private partnership ever since. More recently, however, their relationship has appeared increasingly settled.

In 2025, a source told People that Garner and Miller had “hit a stride” and had become more connected and stable as a couple. Miller was also said to be comfortable with Garner’s family life and her continuing co-parenting relationship with former husband Ben Affleck.

Reports about the possibility of marriage have persisted beyond the jewelry sightings. Life & Style reported in February 2025 that a source claimed Garner and Miller had considered themselves “informally engaged” and intended to marry. That claim was never publicly confirmed by either of them. 

So, are wedding bells officially ringing? Not yet, at least not publicly.

In April 2025, Us Weekly reported that Miller was essentially living with Garner part-time. According to the publication’s source, he was splitting his time between his Los Angeles office and Garner’s home and had increasingly been staying with her. 

Another Us Weekly report from March 2025 described their relationship as “solid,” while noting that Miller frequently stayed overnight at Garner’s home. At that point, however, the source said there had been no confirmed change in the couple’s official relationship status. 

For Garner and Miller, that may be the clearest sign of where the relationship stands.
