Jennifer Garner‘s kids aren’t always very impressed by her.
The 13 Going on 30 actress is a mom to three kids, Violet, 20, Fin, 17, and Samuel, 13, who she shares with her ex-husband Ben Affleck, to whom she was married from 2005 to 2018.
The Alias alum is currently promoting the second season of The Last Thing He Told Me, and cool as that may sound… for her kids, not so much.
Speaking alongside her co-stars Angourie Rice, Judy Greer and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Jennifer revealed her kids found her to be “fully cringe” when she asked them about the thriller series, based on the novel by Laura Dave.
“I am only embarrassing,” she said, revealing: “I asked my kids if they were going to watch this season of the show, and they were like, ‘Do you need us to?'”
However, Jennifer did note that her co-stars do give her an edge with her kids, especially Game of Thrones fan-favorite Nikolaj.
“Angourie gives me cool points,” she noted, then turning to Nikolaj, added: “My son is really into Game of Thrones right now, so thank you.”
“And my kids all love Aunt Judy. I get by with a little help from my friends,” Jennifer also shared of her 13 Going on 30 co-star and longtime friend.
The Last Thing He Told Me, which is backed by Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine, follows Hannah Hall (Jennifer), as she’s made to forge a relationship with her stepdaughter Bailey (Angourie) to find the truth behind why her husband has mysteriously disappeared. Season two is out February 20.
Though Jennifer did note her kids appeared to be somewhat indifferent about her latest project, they have been known to support both her and Ben, most recently stepping out for the premiere of The Accountant sequel in April 2025, as did his former stepkids, Jennifer Lopez‘s twins Max and Emme, 18.
“[She is] great to my kids, [has an] ongoing relationship with them, I love her kids, they are wonderful,” he gushed to Entertainment Tonight at the time, adding that he was “thrilled” that the kids were there with him. “The relationship that you could have with children like that, it’s the joy of my life.”
“Those kids are amazing and I’m glad that this is the movie they wanted to come to,” he noted of his The Accountant sequel. And after the interviewer commented on what a “great dad” Ben is, he simply maintained, with a smile: “I am trying my best, I certainly do.”
