The release is a celebration of Lopez’s biggest record ever, one that launched her career to new heights and remains a fixture of her live performances.

Lopez shared links on her social media, changing her profile picture to the iconic new cover of the album, showing her in a brown fur coat wearing some tan sunglasses that are just as trendy now as they were in the early aughts.

“J.Lo” was released in 2001, and remains Lopez’s best-selling record. At the time, Lopez was 32 years old, with the record pushing her towards a more urban sound, finding her exploring heartbreak, and more. It features collaborations with Ja Rule, Chayanne, and Trixie Mattel, and reissues of some of her biggest hits, among them, “Love Don’t Cost a Thing,” “I’m Real,” “Ain’t It Funny,” and more.

Lopez’s Las Vegas residency

The release comes at the perfect time, with Lopez currently taking a small break from her “Up All Night” Las Vegas residency.

Hosted at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, the residency kicked off on December 30th, with four sold-out shows. Lopez prepared for her residency for months, sharing videos of her dance rehearsals as she prepared for intimate and special shows, hosting around 4,000 people. The show lasted for 120 minutes and explored Lopez’s career, including performances of Broadway hits and some of her most emblematic songs.

“It’s such a huge honor to be asked back. Do you know that it’s been 10 years, 10 years since my last residency here. Almost 10 years to the day. It was in January. That went by in a blink, didn’t it?” said Lopez on her opening show.

Lopez addressed her public life with the audience, prompting some laughs. “It’s all good,” she concluded. “The good news is that I’m learning and I’m growing and we’re in our happy era. I’m in my happy era.”

She will return for more shows in March, with dates on 3/6, 3/7, 3/13, 3/14, 3/20, and 3/21. She’s concluding the residency at the end of the month, with dates on 3/27 and 3/28. According to a statement from Lopez’s representation, the new string of shows will be reimagined, with it including some of the biggest hits from “J.Lo” reworked for “today’s lens.” The performances are described as “bigger, freer, and more electrifying than ever.”
