Jeremy Allen White is trading kitchens for concert halls, and fans can’t get enough. The 34-year-old The Bear star takes on the legendary Bruce Springsteen in the upcoming biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere, and the first trailer, released Wednesday, June 18, has set social media abuzz.

Not only does White bear a striking resemblance to The Boss, but his gritty, soulful vocals are earning praise from die-hard Springsteen fans and newcomers alike.

Jeremy Allen White is seen on the set of the Bruce Springsteen biopic “Deliver Me From Nowhere” on January 10, 2025 in Freehold, New Jersey.

Jeremy has previously revealed he sang everything himself in the movie, but it’s not stopped fans questioning whether it might have been The Boss himself.

After one fan was left confused, Instagram user @ragamuffin_gunner quipped: “The fact you think it’s Bruce means he’s nailing it.” Other fans chimed in to confirm it’s Jeremy singing, while social media user @nickjmalf was blown away.

They wrote, “It’s like Jeremy Allen White inhabited Bruce Springsteen in this performance. I can’t wait to see the film.” Another fan, @irishoberymi, added: “Outstanding choice for an actor to portray Bruce… I mean spot on! I cannot wait to check this out.”

“He’s got an interpretation of me that I think the fans will deeply recognize, and he’s just done a great job. I’ve had a lot of fun being on the set when I can get there.”

The movie tells the story of Bruce making his 1982 album Nebraska, and the Born To Run singer has praised Jeremy for how he’s tackled the project. He told Sirius XM’s E Street Radio in April, “You get over that pretty quickly. And Jeremy is such a terrific actor that you just fall right into it.”

“He sings very well. And Jeremy Strong and Odessa Young, there’s just a tremendous cast of people. They cast the film beautifully so, it’s very exciting.”

Jeremy himself has opened up about the similarities he shares with Bruce and how he prepared for the part. He told GQ.com, “Bruce Springsteen is, I mean this in the very best way, he’s a guy. He’s a jeans and T-shirt kind of guy. It was exciting to know that we had at least that in common going into this thing.”

“I’m really lucky that there’s sort of a team of folks now in place to help young actors portray rock stars. I’ve got a really talented group of people helping me train vocally, musically, to get ready for this thing.”

“I’m also really lucky [that] Bruce is really supportive of the film, and so I’ve had some access to him and he’s just the greatest guy. There’s just so much footage. It’s really great to go down a YouTube rabbit hole and find him at all these different periods in his life and be able to listen to his speaking voice as well as his singing voice. That’s kind of been the deal, just listening to him a lot and watching him a lot. It’s been really fun preparing.”
