Jessica Alba’s friends and fans weren’t the only ones who were surprised to see her pop up on the screen during Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Halftime Show on Sunday.

The actress’ eldest daughter, Honor Warren, took to Instagram to share her feelings on her mother’s unexpected cameo, which she pulled off alongside several other Latino celebrities like Pedro Pascal and Cardi B.

Jessica and her fellow stars appeared on the La Casita set early on in Bad Bunny’s 13-minute-long performance, representing the various diasporas of Latin America.

“The fact that you kept this on the DL and then just spawned on stage is what gets me,” Honor wrote on her mom’s Instagram post, which recapped the special moment.

Jessica simply replied with a laughing emoji after sharing with the world how meaningful it was to be on the stage with the Puerto Rican megastar.

“What an honor to be part of such an extraordinary moment in history! La casita – let’s gooooo!” she began in her caption, alongside a collection of clips from the performance. “Joy you could feel. Pride you could see. A beautiful love letter to Puerto Rico – and to all of America.”

“Benito ‘Bad Bunny’ tells stories rooted in his culture, his people, and his truth – and yesterday, those stories were centered on one of the biggest stages in the world. Watching him honor the diversity of our community gave me full body chills and was so emotional. Some of the most meaningful moments don’t need explanation or translation – you just feel them.”

Jessica concluded with a powerful message about embracing her culture. “For me, yesterday was about joy – fully living inside it. Because when culture is honored instead of erased, when people are seen instead of sidelined, we become one.”

“Above all, as Benito has said, ‘The only thing more powerful than hate is love.’ Love, joy, and unity – this is how we rise.” The Honey star has always been open about her Mexican heritage and shared how difficult it was to break into Hollywood as a Latina actress.

Jessica has always been proud of her Latin heritage

“I was always trying to figure out ‘How the hell am I going to be mainstream? How are people going to accept me? When are they going to get a clue that I am American, that this is what America looks like – people like me who are mixed, have different blood, mixed with different ethnicities? When are the people who are hiring for these jobs and writing these screenplays going to realize that?'” she told Latina magazine.

“I always took pride in being Latina, it’s something I always embraced,” she added. “But when I got shunned, it made me feel really bad, like maybe I’m not.”

Jessica has passed down her Latin pride to her three children, Honor, 17, Haven, 14, and Hayes, eight, whom she shares with her ex-husband, Cash Warren. The pair went their separate ways in December 2024 after almost 17 years of marriage, and vowed to move forward “with love, kindness and respect for each other,” as Jessica shared in a statement.
