Jimmy Kimmel arrived at the 98th Academy Awards to present the Best Documentary prizes, and found the opportunity to poke fun at his frequent frenemy Donald Trump.
The late night host got in a few digs at the expense of Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, particularly with reference to her documentary Melania.
The film was panned upon its release back in January 2026, earning nearly $17 million at the box office on a $40 million budget, being declared this year’s first box office bomb.
As can be seen in the video above, the Jimmy Kimmel Live! host didn’t hold back, before turning his attention then to the night’s powerful victors that championed issues like school shootings and fascism.
All The Empty Rooms won Best Documentary Short, with a mom to a student victim at the shooting in Uvalde, Texas delivering a powerful tribute in the speech. Mr. Nobody Against Putin won Best Documentary Feature, ending with another powerful speech against fascist regimes.
