Jon Hamm may have played the effortlessly cool Don Draper in “Mad Men,” but in real life? He’s just like us fangirling (fanmanning?) over Bad Bunny and plotting a trip to Puerto Rico for his residency shows.

The Emmy winner stopped by the TODAY show on April 10 and surprised everyone by revealing his reggaeton obsession. And we’re not talking about casual playlist vibes; Jon Hamm is fully invested. Like, possibly-booking-a-trip-to-Puerto-Rico invested.

While chatting with Savannah Guthrie, Hamm couldn’t hide his excitement about Benito’s upcoming concert series in San Juan, which kicks off July 11 and runs through September 14. “Well, we’re hoping to go to Puerto Rico,” he said, lighting up like someone just handed him front-row tickets. “I’m excited because he’s doing this residency where he’s doing a month and a half of shows in Puerto Rico.”

But what impressed Hamm was that Bad Bunny had reserved only the first batch of shows for Puerto Rican residents. “First of all, I think it’s really cool that he’s going back to his home to really kind of give back to the fans,” Hamm said. “He’s reserving the first four, five or 10 shows, or whatever it is, for only residents of Puerto Rico, which is so cool.”

According to the venue’s site, the first nine shows are just for locals. Benito is making sure the hometown crowd gets the first dance.

From Don Draper to Jon Jamón

Jon and Bad Bunny shared the screen earlier this year during an SNL50 Q&A sketch, which clearly made an impression. “He’s a really nice guy. And he’s funny. And he’s fun and his music is awesome,” Hamm gushed.

Apparently, the admiration is mutual. Bad Bunny even gave Hamm a special nickname: Jon Jamón. If your Spanish is rusty, that’s “Jon Ham.”

Hamm also shared what we all know deep in our hearts: “You can’t listen to his music and not smile.”

A Music Fan and a Man of Many Projects

While Hamm’s gearing up for a possible concert trip, he’s also got plenty of action going on stateside. He’s set to host SNL for the fourth time on April 12. (If Jon Jamón doesn’t make a sketch appearance, we riot.)

Plus, fans can catch him in the new AppleTV+ series “Your Friends & Neighbors,” premiering April 11. So yes, this man is juggling TV, comedy, and Bad Bunny plans and making it look chill.

Bad Bunny’s Puerto Rico residency, “No me quiero ir de aquí,” starts July 11 and runs through September 14. We can’t wait to see Jon Hamm vibing right there.
