Ada Law’s mother Catherine Harding has broken her silence following a Chappell Roan incident whereby her husband and football player Jorginho accused the musician of sending a security guard to berate Jude Law’s daughter for harassing her.
“I didn’t realize it would get this crazy,” Catherine said on the video shared on her Instagram account. “I know that Chappell has responded saying that it wasn’t her security and she didn’t do it.”
“100 percent, this security guard was not a security guard of the hotel … I don’t know if he was her personal security guard, but he was with her. That is all I know. Did she send him to do it? Again, I don’t know.”
“Look, I would like to hope not, but at the same time, I think that you have a responsibility when you are a celebrity to make sure, I guess, that the people who work for you and that act on your behalf are acting on your behalf,” she continued. “Would he do that if he didn’t have her authority to do so? I don’t know. If he does, then, obviously, that’s a big problem because then he’s representing her in a way that she doesn’t want to be represented.”
“She didn’t have her phone, she didn’t try to take a picture, she didn’t try to approach her,” Catherine added. “She literally didn’t do anything.”

On Saturday, Jorginho shared a statement on Instagram Stories accusing Chappell of having sent a security guard to castigate his daughter, who had walked past her table at the São Paulo they were staying and having breakfast at.
© Getty Images“I went through a very upsetting situation with my family earlier today. My wife is in São Paulo for Lollapalooza Brasil. This morning, my daughter woke up incredibly excited. She even made a sign because she was so happy to see an artist she really admires, or used to admire,” he first wrote.
“She simply walked past the singer’s table, looked to confirm it was her, smiled, and went back to sit with her mum. She didn’t say anything, didn’t ask for anything,” he continued, before alleging that a “large security guard” subsequently “came over to their table while they were still having breakfast and began speaking in an extremely aggressive manner to both my wife and my daughter, saying that she shouldn’t allow my daughter to ‘disrespect’ or ‘harass’ other people.”
“He even said he would file a complaint against them with the hotel, while my 11-year-old daughter was sitting there in tears,” he added. “My daughter was extremely shaken and cried a lot.”
Chappell has since responded to the allegations also via Instagram Stories, sharing in a video in which she claimed the security guard was not part of her team, and that no mother and child came up to her, nor was she bothered by anyone.
“I did not ask the security guard to go up to this mother and child,” she maintained, adding: “They didn’t come up to me. They weren’t doing anything. It’s unfair for security to just assume someone doesn’t have good intentions, when they don’t have reason to believe, because there’s no action even taken.”
Jude welcomed Ada with Catherine Harding in 2015. The former couple dated for about seven months, but split prior to Ada’s arrival.
In 2025, Jorginho, 34, married Catherine, a singer who also goes by Cat Cavelli, becoming a stepfather to Ada. The couple started dating in 2019, and welcomed their son Jax in 2020.
The Brazilian soccer star, whose real name is Jorge Luiz Frello Filho, was previously married to Natalia Leteri from 2017 to 2019, and they welcomed two children, son Vitor and a daughter Alicia.
