Julianne Hough takes sheer dressing to the extreme in dazzling diamond creation

Julianne Hough wowed once again with a look fans couldn’t get enough of. 

The DWTS star took to Instagram with a sneak peak of a promotional shoot for the show and her sheer look was sensational. 

Julianne slipped into a corseted mini dress seemingly created entirely in strings of diamonds. She wore nude underwear beneath and the draped jewels swished back and forth when she broke into dance.

Julianne paired her dress with killer heels and wore her short-bob hair slicked back and tucked behind one ear.

While her latest look has some of the sparkle of her former competitive dance costumes, Julianne appreciates her style has evolved vastly over the years.

She admits she didn’t fully understand fashion until later in life. Julianne told Cosmopolitan that the style advice she received when she was younger was “terrible” as she was told things such as never mixing stripes with prints or never wearing socks with sandals.

Now, she loves taking fashion risks and trying different trends.

When does season 35 of DWTS begin?

Julianne’s hosting duties on the new season of  will debut with a two-night premiere on September 15 and 16, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+.

She first kicked joined the show as a professional dancer but revealed that when she was first asked to join as an 18-year-old, she initially said no because she wanted to be a respected singer and actress rather than part of a reality competition.

Julianne officially signed on in season 4 and won back-to-back seasons with partners Apolo Anton Ohno and Hélio Castroneves. She left the show in 2009.

She returned as a permanent judge for season 19 through season 23, and later appeared as a guest judge.

Julianne stepped back into the ballroom in 2023 for season 32 as a co-host alongside Alfonso Ribeiro.

Talking about her role on DWTS today, she said: “I’m here to hold space for the dancers, the celebrities, and even the audience — so they can relax and be their most authentic selves. It’s about legacy and nurturing now, not proving anything.”

Julianne revealed her secret to looking and feeling her best when she told LA Mag: “Usually in fitness and health, we’re always concerned about looking at the 3-D versions of ourselves, our physical bodies. But when we look at the energetic body of how we feel and what we evoke, that’s what I think true beauty is.”

The entertainer added: “It’s just an added bonus because most people who feel incredible, look amazing and radiate from the inside out.”
