Kanye West brought out a special guest at his concert in Los Angeles. The singer, who’s back onstage performing after an absence mired in controversies, performed at the Los Angeles SoFi Stadium, with his eldest daughter, North West, joining him onstage to perform two songs.
Kanye’s concert took place on Wednesday, with North joining him onstage with her blue hair styled in two high pigtails. She wore an all-black look, made up of a long-sleeve shirt with her dad’s name printed in the back, baggy pants, and sneakers, topping it off with some sunglasses. She accessorized the look with a skull necklace.
North performed two songs, “Talking” and “Piercing on My Hand,” and she hugged her dad at one point. She performed in front of over 70,000 guests, a notorious achievement for a 12-year-old on a school night.
West’s show reportedly lasted two hours and featured Don Tolliver as a special guest. The show was made up of some of his biggest hits, with him performing songs from his recent releases but also older ones that were pivotal in launching his career.
West has a second show scheduled for this Friday.
West’s first US show in five years
It’s a sensitive time for West. The Los Angeles show marks his first US performance in five years, and follows various public controversies, including the loss of partnerships due to antisemitic remarks.
Earlier this year, West took out a page in the Wall Street Journal, writing an apology for his behavior. “When you’re manic, you don’t think you’re sick. You think everyone else is overreacting. You feel like you’re seeing the world more clearly than ever, when in reality you’re losing your grip entirely,” he wrote.
Last year, Kim Kardashian addressed her divorce from West in an interview with “Call Her Daddy.” It made for her most outspoken commentary on their relationship, with Kardashian sharing some of the toxic experiences she lived through.
“You never know what you’re going to get when you wake up, and that’s a really unsettling feeling,” she said, referring to West’s mental health. “Lack of stability was a big thing.”
