Kanye West took over SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles for his second show there on Friday, April 3, delivering a performance that had fans buzzing both in the crowd and online. The night was packed with surprise appearances, including standout moments from Lauryn Hill and Travis Scott.
Travis Scott hit the stage to perform his new collaboration with Ye, “FATHER,” from Bully, along with a shortened version of his UTOPIA track “FE!N,” according to clips shared online. Meanwhile, Lauryn Hill delivered a powerful set, blending “The Mystery Of Iniquity” into “All Falls Down” alongside Kanye. She also performed “Lost Ones” and “Doo Wop (That Thing),” which Ye transitioned into his track “Believe What I Say.”
Hill didn’t come alone either. The Fugees icon brought out her sons, Zion Marley and YG Marley, who performed “Heartbeat,” “Crisis,” and “Praise Jah In The Moonlight.” Even with a few technical hiccups, the moment still landed with the crowd. Given the long history between Kanye and Hill, fans were especially excited to see them share the stage again.
The guest list didn’t stop there. Andre Troutman handled instrumental and talk box duties throughout the show, including on songs like “Runaway,” “ALL THE LOVE,” and “Wolves.” CeeLo Green also made an appearance to perform his Bully collaboration with Kanye, while North West joined her dad onstage for “TALKING” from Vultures and her own track, “PIERCING ON MY HAND.”
Kanye and Lauryn Hill go way back, especially when it comes to musical influence. From “All Falls Down” to “Believe What I Say,” her work has shaped some of his biggest songs. He even referenced her on “No More Parties In L.A.,” rapping about feeling uninspired since she stepped away from the spotlight. That made this reunion feel like a full-circle moment for longtime fans.
As for Travis Scott, things haven’t always been smooth between the two. Kanye publicly criticized him last year, but their new track “FATHER” and this onstage link-up suggest they’ve moved past it.
With Bully setting the tone and Kanye recently issuing public apologies, fans are hoping these shows point to a more positive chapter ahead. Time will tell how things continue to unfold.
