The Princess of Wales is one of the most elegant dressers in the British royal family, and her constant balance between dressing stylishly, professionally and with regal poise represents the pinnacle of contemporary royal style.
One thing about the 44-year-old is that she knows her colours – she has perfectly nailed dressing in the colours that suit her best, which include powder blues, muted pinks, lavenders and more, according to Susie Hasler, the colour expert and personal stylist behind Styled by Susie, who spoke exclusively to HELLO! about how the beloved royal nails colourful dressing.
However, the wife of Prince William still has one colour that stands above all as her favourite, as she revealed during an outing on Thursday, 12 February, when she made an appearance at the Castle Hill Academy in New Addington, Croydon.
In her position as patron of the charity Place2Be, which helps build trusted relationships through creativity and play, she chatted to the children, and was heard saying to them: “Can I have a go? Is it hard? What’s your favourite colour? I love green, it reminds me of nature and being outside.”
Given that she’s repeatedly expressed her love of nature, her favourite colour comes as no surprise – and it helps that she always looks absolutely brilliant in it! Constance Richardson, a colour expert and luxury personal stylist spoke exclusively to HELLO! about the further symbolism behind Princess Kate’s favourite colour, on top of its connotations of nature, telling us: “Green is such an interesting choice for the Princess of Wales. Beyond its link to nature, it carries a sense of renewal, balance and strength which feels very intentional for Kate.”
Emerald has that heritage feel to it, confident and established, whereas forest or sage tones soften the message and make green feel like a more approachable choice,” the fashion expert continued. “These tones are optimistic and strong without being severe. That balance is what makes it such a particularly powerful colour on her.”
