In a statement on Instagram, Zignia Live, the promoter and owner of the 20,000-capacity venue, announced that, along with Katy Perry’s shows, upcoming concerts by Carlos Rivera (April 25) and Intocable (April 26) have also been canceled. The reason? A situation ‘out of the control of the artists.’

“We seek to offer you shows with the quality and safety that you deserve, and although we have made our greatest effort together with our contractors and workers, we are not yet completely ready to receive you,” the statement said. “We will soon be ready to offer you the experience you expect and deserve.”

How to request a refund

To request a refund for any of the three canceled concerts, most refunds will be processed automatically if you bought your tickets through the Superboletos website. However, if you purchased your tickets at a box office, store, or any other physical sales point, you’ll need to send an email starting April 22 to . Be sure to include a copy of your official ID (INE or passport), a clear photo of your tickets, and write “REEMBOLSOS ARENA GDL” in the subject line to ensure your request is handled properly.

Katy Perry regrets not being able to perform in Guadalajara

The Firework singer continues. “Sadly, I learned that the construction of Arena Guadalajara will not be complete for their scheduled shows next week, which includes mine on May 1 and 2… I wish I could fix this but it is beyond my control. You guys mean the world to me, and we have all been on such a beautiful journey together that I will be thinking about how I can create something special for the fans in Guadalajara in the future. I love you ALL .”

CDMX and Monterrey Shows Still On

It’s worth noting that Perry chose Mexico as the starting point for The Lifetimes Tour. She’s expected to perform on April 23, 25, and 26 at Arena CDMX. She’ll then head to Monterrey, where she’s scheduled to play at Arena Monterrey on April 28 and 29. Originally, the tour was set to wrap up in Guadalajara—but that plan is now off the table.
