Patti Hansen proved that she was still supermodel material in a rare appearance for the wife of Rolling Stones rocker Keith Richards. The 69-year-old, who rarely updates her social media, showcased her athletic figure in a photo posted to Instagram, as she wore a patterned sun-safe outfit.
Patti stood by the beach with her hands on her hips as she modeled the blue, black and white long-sleeved shirt and matching pants. The high neckline protected her from the sun’s rays, while her toned stomach peeked out from below the shirt.
Patti’s fans rushed to the comment section to share the love, with one writing: “Always so beautiful and elegant!” while another added: “Patti you look great!”
“You look gorgeous as always Patti!” said a third, while another chimed in: “Just stunning.” The mother of two was first scouted as a model in the ’70s at just 14 years old, and was signed to a modeling agency two years later.
From there, she enjoyed an incredibly successful career and appeared on the covers of Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue and Esquire. Patti also landed a major Revlon deal and was the face of Calvin Klein.
The blonde beauty tried her hand at acting in her 20s, and appeared in They All Laughed with Audrey Hepburn and Hard to Hold with Rick Springfield. In 2018, she shared in the photobook Patti Hansen: A Portrait that it had taken time to learn self-love.
“After years of being in this business, you’re so aware of every little thing, every line, every mole. I try to keep a healthy focus,” she said. “Every morning I look in the mirror and say, ‘Oh, you could lift up here.'”
“At 60, I finally decided to take really good care of myself,” she continued. “I’ve done [laser treatments] for all the sun damage. My daughters are in their 30s, and they do facials and have all the creams. I never did any of that. Now I do. Now I’m learning from them.”
Patti shares her daughters Theodora, 40, and Alexandra, 39, with Keith, whom she met in 1979 at Studio 54. “When Patti and I met, it was just…boom,” Keith told Vanity Fair. “There was life before Patti and life after. We just clicked, and she rescued me from, shall we say, dark periods…without going into too much detail.”
“The moment I saw Patti, we looked at each other, and I said, ‘Hello, something’s happening to me,'” he added. The couple began dating around nine months later, when she was 23, and he was 36, and tied the knot in 1983.
Patti revealed how their marriage had endured for more than four decades in a 2010 interview with Vogue. “Any marriage, Rolling Stone or not, there’s definitely going to be some rocky mountains there,” she explained.
“We have had our trials; that’s for sure. But on the whole, it’s great. We both have the same morals and background. We both come from working-class families. I think we are very similar in many ways.”
