Keith Urban took to the stage on Thursday for a special performance at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, just days after his ex-wife, Nicole Kidman, hinted at a romance with her co-star, Simon Baker.
The Grammy winner sang a cover of Robbie Dupree’s “Steal Away” at the Country Radio Seminar event for Team MCA, a division of Universal Music Group. Keith was joined at the event by his fellow country stars, like Kassi Ashton, Dalton Davis, Wyatt Flores, Tyler Hubbard and Kenny Whitmire.
“This is an incredibly special year for us as it marks our first Ryman luncheon as MCA,” said MA Senior VP Damon Moberly in a statement.
“The legacy of this event runs deep at CRS and within the country music community, and we are honored to carry that tradition forward. With such an extraordinary lineup of artists representing the strength and diversity of our roster, we’re excited to celebrate this new chapter as MCA while continuing to support and champion our partners at country radio.”
Keith kept it casual for the event, wearing a graphic gray T-shirt and ripped blue jeans as he sat on the stage with his electric guitar and entertained the crowd.
The performance marked his first time back at the Ryman since the season finale of his hit show, The Road, which saw singer Adam Sanders take home the top prize.
Keith’s appearance comes just days after Nicole stepped out with her Scarpetta co-star, Simon, whom she has been friends with for decades. The pair were seen holding hands at the show’s NYC premiere, and Nicole revealed in an interview with The Daily Telegraph that she begged him to join the project in the role of her love interest.

“We have known each other for a huge portion of our lives. I’ve always wanted to do something substantial with Simon,” she explained.
Meanwhile, Keith’s eldest daughter, Sunday, seemingly left him out of a recent interview with Elle Australia while singing the praises of her mother, Nicole. “My mom is someone who has always been so creative and my biggest inspiration in life. She’s a key part of everything I do,” the aspiring model said.
“The biggest piece of industry advice Mom has given to me is to always be on time,” she continued. “I’ve traveled my whole life and my mom is a really good traveler, so she has taught me how to be one, too, which makes it so fun to travel and enjoy all the different places.”
After their divorce in September 2025, court documents revealed that Nicole would receive primary custody of Sunday and her sister, Faith, at their Nashville residence for 306 days of the year, while Keith would have them for 59 days.
“We have our life here. I’m part of the city and community for 20 years. It’s my home,” the Babygirl actress told Variety when asked if she would stay in Nashville following her split. “I’m always going to be moving toward what’s good,” she continued. “What I’m grateful for is my family and keeping them as is and moving forward. That’s that.”
“Everything else I don’t discuss out of respect. I’m staying in a place of, ‘We are a family,’ and that’s what we’ll continue to be. My beautiful girls, my darlings, who are suddenly women.” Nicole and Keith moved to Nashville in 2007, two years after their Sydney wedding, in order to be closer to the country music scene.
