Kelly Clarkson’s musical choices are seemingly feeding into fan theories on social media.
The singer and inaugural American Idol champ appeared in a segment behind-the-scenes of The Voice called “Soundtrack It,” providing songs to fit the bill for each scenario on Instagram.
When asked about a potential track for a “romantic date night,” Kelly couldn’t resist shouting out the 1985 country music hit “Lost in the Fifties Tonight (In The Still of the Night)” by Ronnie Milsap.
At one point, she was also asked about what song would play at a family dance party, and while she noted her son Remington “Remy” is picking something by Michael Jackson, her daughter River would definitely go country, with the song chosen being one by her The Voice co-judge Riley Green.
One fan even commented on the clip in response: “I just love how she said country and yall added a riley green song, lmfao yes keep feeding my delusion.”
Already on social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok, The Voice viewers are noticing purported chemistry between Kelly and Riley, who are appearing on a season together for the first time, particularly in the season 30 premiere when Riley puts his cowboy hat on Kelly, and in pre-season promotional clips.
Neither party has commented on the matter, although their banter has consistently delighted fans online. The country music star made his debut on The Voice with its milestone season alongside Queen Latifah.
Kelly returned to the singing competition after a lengthy hiatus in season 29, taking time off to instead focus on her New York-based talk show, which came to an end this fall.
Riley will return for season 31 aka the Celebrity special edition of The Voice, alongside Queen Latifah (who also debuted in season 30) and a brand new panelist, Joe Jonas. Keke Palmer will replace Carson Daly as the host for the first time.
Joining Kelly, Riley and Queen Latifah on the panel this season is veteran Voice coach Adam Levine. The new season premiered on September 21 on NBC, introducing several new format changes from previous installments.

All four coaches have used their First-In Buttons already so far.
The second and most notable change is the removal of the knockout rounds, in which coaches traditionally pit two of their contestants against each other in a head-to-head style, where one advances and the other is eliminated (if not stolen by another judge).
