Kelly Ripa is celebrating 25 years on her TV show “Live!” The TV star has been a fixture of the show, co-hosting alongside Ryan Seacrest and her husband, Mark Consuelos. To commemorate the occasion, she received a sweet surprise from her son, Michael.
Earlier today, on February 20th, Ripa celebrated her anniversary live on the show, receiving numerous surprises from friends and family members. The most emotional surprise came early on in the episode, with their son Michael, 28, giving his mom a surprise.
Michael came out in a suit and some reading glasses, holding on to some flowers for his mom. When asked about his favorite past memories, Michael shared a funny story with the audience.
“There are so many, but if I had to narrow it down to just a handful, I’d say the swamp tour in Louisiana where I threw the snake on you,” Michael said. “That was pretty good. That was pretty awesome.”
Michael shared a fondness for the show’s “cooking segments.” “All the family holiday specials we did together, and the cherry on top, winning the golden wiener.”
Ripa shared how emotional the moment was to her. “I’m just looking at you and I’m like, ‘I can’t believe you’re here,'” Ripa said. “It’s such a nice surprise.” She was surprised by her other children, Lola and Joaquin, who sent her video messages that aired onscreen.

Ripa tributes her experience on ‘Live!’
Ripa addressed the audience during the episode, recapping her journey on the show and the experiences and teachings she’s learned.
“When I joined this show, I honestly did not believe I would be here longer than three years. I really didn’t. But it really is the family and the group of people — many of whom you will never see — that make this show what it is,” she said. “To everybody here, thank you. From the bottom of my heart.”
She also addressed her co-host, Mark. “Especially to my co-host,” she said. “You brought something to us all that we didn’t know we were missing, which is your love, your warmth, and your overall zeal for life. I feel like I did when i joined the show 25 years ago, every day since you’ve been here.”
