King Charles’s beloved royal estate is advertising for a new chef, just days after Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor officially moved to his new home. Sandringham, the royal family’s privately-owned residence in Norfolk, is looking for a “skilled and passionate chef to join our culinary team”, according to the advert, which is currently listed on the estate’s website.
It added: “There will be a requirement to assist the Head Chef in menu engineering and concept development… therefore will need to have a knowledge of, and interest in, many different styles of food and service.”
The successful candidate will – literally – be making meals fit for a King, and will be responsible for preparing “high-quality meals”, maintaining kitchen standards and displaying the “highest standards of service”.
The listing comes amid news that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the disgraced brother of King Charles, has officially left his Royal Lodge home in Windsor and is currently living at Wood Farm Cottage on the Sandringham Estate, while his new permanent home, Marsh Farm, undergoes renovations.
It is not clarified in the advert which area of the estate or which royals the new recruit would be cooking for.
Which royals live at Sandringham?
Sandringham is the country retreat of King Charles and welcomes over 500,000 visitors each year, according to the website. The King, 77, stays there seasonally, with his main residence being Clarence House in London with Queen Camilla. The royal family typically spends the Christmas break at Sandringham, and the grounds are open to the public.
