His Majesty King Charles III is taking a business-as-usual approach to royal duties, keeping up with royal engagements following the fallout from his brother Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s arrest on suspicion of misconduct in public office. The monarch has given Andrew a place to stay on his Sandringham Estate after he was forced to give up his Crown Estate lease on Royal Lodge. The King is currently looking for a new tenant to live at a neighbouring property, Farm House, in West Newton.
The property to let listing is live on the Sandringham website and it says they are seeking “immediate occupancy” for a rate of £1,850 per calendar month. The image of it shows it is a red-brick property with Georgian sash windows and a sweet teal blue door. At the front of the building, there is a small brick wall separating it from the main road.
The property itself has an array of sought-after features, including a large kitchen, a utility room and four double bedrooms. The wrap-around garden is a charming space and the listing states that there is also “extensive parking available for numerous vehicles, in addition to a range of outbuildings offering further storage or potential for a variety of uses”.
The information also details that the property sits within council tax band E, which means the occupier will pay between £2,600 and £3,300 annually in tax.
What does Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s new home look like?
Andrew is currently living at Wood Farm, his late father Prince Philip’s old home where he lived after he retired from public duties in 2017. However, he will imminently move into Marsh Farm, which has been renovated for his arrival, including the addition of luxury carpets and Sky TV.
It was February when Andrew finally left his 30-room mansion in Windsor for good, after months of speculation when it was revealed that he had been paying a “peppercorn” rent for decades. This move came after the King stripped his younger brother of all of his titles, styles and honours following a string of scandals.
It was a long-time coming for Andrew who had been embroiled in controversy for years over his friendship with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Where is Sarah Ferguson?
Meanwhile, Andrew’s ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, who had resided with him at Royal Lodge even after their divorce, hasn’t moved with him to royal grounds.
It’s been reported that Sarah spent time at the Paracelsus Recovery Clinic in Zurich, Switzerland and it was then claimed in late February that Sarah had been spotted at Ballyliffin Lodge & Spa in Donegal, Ireland, but her current whereabouts remains unknown.
