While Lady Eliza and Lady Amelia Spencer have long perfected the art of coordinated dressing, often matching at events and on red carpets – their latest outing abroad has delivered complimentary fashion with an uber glamorous twist. The 33-year-old twin nieces of the late Princess Diana joined forces abroad in Austria for the 68th Vienna Opera Ball, which saw the likes of Hollywood darlings Sharon Stone and Fran Drescher glam up for the night.
The Spencer twins arrived on the red carpet, both shimmering in metallic Oscar de la Renta gowns from the luxury designer’s 2025 collections. Amelia glittered in the strapless ‘Amber Glass Floral Grid Gown’ from the fall collection, which pooled to the floor over her pointed-toe heels. Her brilliant sapphire jewel necklace and matching drop earrings were just as show-stopping.
Eliza posed beside her sister with her hair fashioned up in an identical ballet bun and wearing Oscar de la Renta’s ‘Origami Rose Bugle Bead Column Gown’ from the spring collection, with a statement rosette fashioned out of the reflective silver fabric at the front.
For her accessories, she opted for a diamond choker necklace with a striking emerald in the centre, which matched her stud earrings. The twins added a final matching touch to their ensembles, opting for contrasting black and white opera gloves – the perfect accessory for the occasion. The ball is an annual star-studded affair in Vienna, hosting international celebrities and socialites.
Eliza and Amelia’s close bond
Eliza and Amelia are the daughters of Earl Charles Spencer, Princess Diana’s younger brother, and model Victoria Aitken. While their coordinated wardrobe speaks to how close they are, the twins opened up exclusively to HELLO! in March 2025 about how deep their bond goes.
“We’ve always had a unique understanding of each other. We often know exactly what the other is thinking,” Amelia told us. “We’ve had countless moments where we can feel what the other is going through without saying a word.”
After taking a DNA test and finding out they are identical twins, Amelia said: “When we found out, it felt as though a piece of the puzzle clicked into place – there’s a deeper sense of closeness now that we know we share that even stronger genetic connection.”
Eliza’s ‘dream come true’ engagement
Eliza got engaged to her long-term love, Channing Millerd, in July 2025. She broke her silence on the romantic proposal and her destination wedding dreams in a world exclusive with HELLO! in December.
Channing got down on one knee with a 2.5-carat, pear-cut diamond set on a platinum band during their trip to Santorini last year. Eliza described the moment as an “an out-of-body experience”.
She added: “I laughed and I cried. I don’t know how he pulled it all off, but it was so special. He did the most amazing job – above and beyond. I couldn’t have dreamt of such a beautiful setting. It really was a dream come true.” Eliza’s twin sister Amelia was the first person they told.
“We’re quite keen on a destination wedding,” Eliza, who grew up in South Africa and met Channing there, shared. “Some of our best memories have been made in the Mediterranean. Then, at the same time, all of our friends and family have done weddings in Cape Town.
“I’ve never been to Lake Como, but it looks so beautiful. I think that would be my dream destination, but we still have to visit it first.”
