The Super Bowl was yesterday, and while the game itself is supposed to be the main event, Bad Bunny’s halftime show seems to be what everyone is talking about. The Puerto Rican superstar took audiences on an incredible journey filled with history, cultural easter eggs, and will be remembered as one of the most impactful performances of all time. It was full of surprises, including Ricky Martin, who performed “Lo Que Le Pasó a Hawaii,” and Lady Gaga, who performed a salsa-infused version of “Die With a Smile.”
On Monday, Gaga shared a gallery of photos on Instagram, thanking Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio. “Thank you Benito, for including me in this powerful, important, and meaningful performance,” she wrote in the caption.
“I am so humbled to be a part of this moment. It’s all the more special because it was with you and your beautiful heart and music,” she added, sending love to Bad Bunny, Martin, and the rest of the cast.
While the “Bad Romance” singer reflected on the experience on Instagram, Bad Bunny, meanwhile, wiped his profile, deleting or archiving all of his posts.
The move has fans speculating he’s about to enter a new era of music. His historical, Grammy award-winning album, Debí Tirar Más Fotos, was released over a year ago in January 2025. Since 2018, he’s released a new album every year except 2021 and 2024.
How many people watched?
According to CBS News, there were more than 135 million viewers who watched Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Halftime Show, making it the most-watched halftime show performance of all time. Kendrick Lamar had 133.5 million viewers in 2025.
Turning Point USA’s controversial “All-American Halftime Show,” headlined by Kid Rock and featuring Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, and Gabby Barrett, drew 6.1 million concurrent viewers on YouTube, according to figures reported by The New York Times.
Bad Bunny’s streams surge
After his performance, fans immediately took to Spotify to relive his music. New post-game data shows a massive real-time response: U.S. streams surged 470% and global streams jumped 210% following the performance.
The same for the “Vida Loca” singer – Martin’s U.S. streams spiked 145%.
The setlist drove explosive gains across the board, led by “Yo Perreo Sola” (+2,170%), “El Apagón” (+1,320%), “Party” (+1,130%), “LO QUE LE PASÓ A HAWAii” (+1,040%), “Tití Me Preguntó” and “Safaera” (both +1,000%), with additional spikes for “DtMF,” “MONACO,” “CAFé CON RON,” “VOY A LLeVARTE PA PR,” “NUEVAYoL,” “LA MuDANZA,” “EoO,” and “BAILE INoLVIDABLE.”
Bad Bunny now occupies the top six spots on Spotify’s U.S. Daily Top Songs chart, capping a dominant month in which he was streamed more than 1.3 billion times globally as fans revisited his catalog ahead of game day. He is the only artist to be named Spotify’s Global Top Artist four times.
The moment underscores a decade-long cultural rise, from just 73,000 monthly listeners in 2016 when Spotify first featured “Diles.”
