Last One Laughing became one of Prime Video’s most-watched shows following its release in March 2025 – and with season two dropping this week, one of its breakout stars has revealed the surprising tactic that helped her reach the final.
Comedian Lou Sanders was among the five finalists in series one, alongside Bob Mortimer, Richard Ayoade, Rob Beckett and Harriet Kemsley.
While she ultimately fell short of the top spot, Lou revealed the instinctive approach that carried her to the final in an exclusive chat with HELLO!.
Lou’s Last One Laughing tactics
“I didn’t have a strategy going in, I really didn’t,” Lou admitted. “But then instinct kicked in and I think my strategy, subconsciously, must have been to go on the attack, because if you’re resting, you’re in trouble. The only danger is, you make yourself laugh.”
In the series, each contestant performs their ‘Joker’ – a pre-prepared routine designed to make the others laugh. “Your Jokers are the only things that you think about beforehand, but the rest is all improvised,” Lou explained.
One of the show’s standout moments came from her Joker – a chaotic dance routine performed with her ‘mum’. But Lou confessed she had second thoughts when it came down to performing it.
“When I had to do it and put on a leotard and some jelly shoes, I thought, ‘Why have I written this?'” she said.
While the performance ultimately contributed to her elimination, Lou has no regrets. “It was a dream job, really,” she added. “Just to mess about with all the people you love and respect – it was perfect.”
Who stars in Last One Laughing season 2?
