The Met Gala is almost here, and fashion lovers everywhere are on full red alert. As always, the guest list remains locked tighter than a Birkin vault, but expectations are building fast, especially about which Latino and Hispanic stars are expected to grace those famous Met steps on May 5.

This year’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” honors Black fashion and culture, inspired by Monica L. Miller’s book “Slaves to Fashion.” The dress code is “Tailored for You,” a nod to personal expression through sharp silhouettes, from zoot suits to Congolese sapeur-inspired flair. So, we can expect jaw-dropping fits and bold style statements.

And yes, plenty of Latino and Hispanic icons are rumored to be in the mix. From Met Gala regulars to exciting first-timers, here’s a who’s-who of expected (and hopeful) attendees from the Spanish-speaking world.

Met Gala Regulars We’re Likely to See

  • Karol G: Colombia’s reggaeton queen is fresh off her Netflix doc “Mañana Fue Muy Bonito” and teasing a new era. Her fearless, colorful style practically screams Met Gala-ready.
  • Shakira: The pop legend is in the middle of her “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” tour. With Versace as a go-to and a flair for drama, her return to the Met carpet would be a no-brainer.

  • Bad Bunny: Puerto Rico’s genre-bending superstar dropped “DtMF” and made Met appearances a tradition. He’s known for flawlessly turning classic fashion on its head.
  • J Balvin: Another Met Gala alum, J Balvin, is no stranger to high fashion and might show up again, possibly alongside his model wife Valentina Ferrer.
  • Camila Cabello: A fixture on red carpets and past Met galas, Camila knows how to lean into a theme.
  • Rosalía: With her “Euphoria” role confirmed and a new album reportedly in the works, the Spanish singer could return in showstopping fashion.
  • Ice Spice: The Bronx-born rapper, who has Dominican roots, is a Versace favorite. She’s got the cool factor to pull off a Met moment.
  • Jenna Ortega: The “Wednesday” star, of Mexican and Puerto Rican heritage, is a Gen Z style icon and Dior muse. A tailored theme fits her perfectly.

  • Anya Taylor-Joy: Argentine-British and born in Miami, Anya mixes elegance with edge. She’s overdue for a Met comeback.
  • Eiza González: The Mexican actress is a red carpet-pro. Her polished glamour makes her a shoo-in for the guest list.
  • Rauw Alejandro: After paying tribute to Puerto Rico last year with a “Flor de Maga” look, Rauw’s experimental fashion makes him one to watch. Hopefully, he will pause his tour to walk the museum’s iconic stairs.
  • Maluma: Colombian, charismatic, and consistently chic. A Met regular who might bring the heat again this year.
  • Anitta: Brazil’s pop powerhouse has made waves with her music and fashion choices. She’s more than Met-ready.

Stars Who Could Make Their Met Gala Debut

  • Peso Pluma: Mexico’s biggest breakout star of the last year. With his rising fame and bold aesthetic, a Met debut wouldn’t be surprising.
  • Kenia OS: The Mexican pop star has become a staple at fashion events—she’s earned her Met moment.
  • Feid: Colombia’s reggaeton prince is one of the most-streamed Latin artists. His style’s been leveling up fast.
  • Tokischa: The Dominican rebel is known for making waves (and headlines). If she comes, expect something wild and unforgettable.
  • Bad Gyal: Barcelona’s queen of urban fashion would bring serious street-style energy to the carpet.
  • TINI: Argentina’s pop sweetheart has been making moves in fashion. A Met debut is a matter of when, not if.
  • Georgina Rodríguez: Cristiano Ronaldo‘s partner has carved her own space in fashion. Could 2025 be her Met Gala debut?

Latino and Hispanic Actors Who Could Light Up the Carpet

  • America Ferrera
  • Zoe Saldaña
