Lauren Sánchez officially became Mrs. Bezos on Friday in Venice. The former journalist and space traveler tied the knot with the billionaire in an opulent Italian wedding, walking down the aisle in a Dolce & Gabbana couture gown.
The stunning lace dress featured a high neck and long sleeves, completed with a corseted waist and 180 chiffon-covered buttons, inspired by Sophia Loren’s bridal look from the 1958 film ‘Houseboat.’
“It went from ‘I want a simple, sexy modern dress’ to ‘I want something that evokes a moment,’” Lauren told Vogue, adding, “It is a departure from what people expect — from what I expect—but it’s very much me.”

As her “something blue,” she carried a small memento from her all-female Blue Origin space flight, which included Katy Perry and Gayle King, calling it “one of the most profound experiences I’ve ever had.”
The gown reportedly took over 900 hours to complete. But the idea started a year and a half earlier at dinner with designer Domenico Dolce. “I researched pictures of brides in the 1950s,” she told Vogue. “I saw Sophia Loren with her hands in a prayer position, in high lace, up to the neck, and I said, ‘That’s it. That’s the dress.’”
