Lauren Sánchez is opening up about how she got ready for her wedding to Jeff Bezos.
The 55-year-old media personality, who tied the knot with the Amazon founder on June 27 in Venice, Italy, shared that her secret to dropping three and a half pounds from her 5-foot-4 frame before the big day was simply sticking to her normal workout routine.
“Some people meditate, I work out,” she said in a June 27 interview with Vogue. “It’s something Jeff and I do every morning. We have our coffee, we talk about whatever’s going on and then we go to the gym.”
Still, Lauren made a few adjustments in the final stretch before the destination ceremony—attended by celebrity friends such as Orlando Bloom, Eva Longoria, Leonardo DiCaprio, Karlie Kloss, and Kim Kardashian. She shared that she skipped alcohol and cut back on salt, but didn’t stray far from her usual diet.
“I like food,” she explained. “Food is such a big part of life. I’m Latin!”
In the days leading up to the wedding, the former journalist—mom to Evan, 19, and Ella, 17, with ex Patrick Whitesell, and Nikko Gonzalez, 24, with ex Tony Gonzalez—was seen showing off her fit physique in Venice. One standout look was a floral Schiaparelli gown with a figure-hugging, textured corset, worn to a welcome party she and Jeff hosted at the Madonna dell’Orto church, as reported by NBC News.
When it came time to walk down the aisle, her dedication in the gym paid off. Lauren wore a custom Dolce & Gabbana gown crafted from Italian lace, featuring a high neckline inspired by screen legend Sophia Loren.
“It is a departure from what people expect,” she told Vogue. “From what I expect—but it’s very much me.”
Designer Stefano Gabbana echoed her sentiment, telling the magazine, “She wants to do a very classic and elegant wedding.”
He added, “She didn’t want to do something very flashing or bling bling.”
