Lauren Sánchez had some mother-son bonding time on Wednesday night, stepping out in New York City for a fancy dinner. The media personality and helicopter pilot was spotted heading into Chez Margot with her son, Nikko Gonzalez, and a group of his friends.
Sánchez kept things sleek in a fitted black dress with a dramatic front slit, paired with towering black platform heels and yellow-tinted sunglasses. She wore her hair in loose waves as she walked outside the venue, smiling for photographers while making her way inside.
The outing appeared to be a casual mother-son moment, with Nikko arriving separately in an all-black look layered with a hoodie and long coat as he stepped out of a car. The 25-year-old has been increasingly stepping into the spotlight himself in recent years, including modeling work and appearances at fashion events.
Nikko is Sánchez’s eldest son, whom she shares with former NFL star Tony Gonzalez. He was born in 2001 and has grown up partly in the public eye as his mother transitioned from television journalist to entrepreneur and high-profile partner, and now wife, of billionaire Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.
Despite her ultra-glam lifestyle these days, Sánchez often shares how close she is with her kids. She also has two younger children, Evan and Ella, from her previous marriage to talent agent Patrick Whitesell.
Bezos, however, wasn’t there for the dinner date. The billionaire has been busy finding ways to make more money. According to new reporting from the Financial Times, he is quietly ramping up a massive AI play through his lab, Project Prometheus.
The venture is reportedly raising tens of billions of dollars to acquire companies that have been shaken up by the rapid shift toward artificial intelligence.
It was recently revealed that the couple will help co-chair the 2026 Met Gala and are also the primary donors funding it. The former journalist recently shared details of the big night, saying Wintour called her personally.
“It has been such a fun and meaningful experience, and when Anna [Wintour] called me and said, ‘Do you want to co-chair and also be the sponsors of the Met?’ I was so honored,” Lauren shared during a March 3 appearance on the Today show. “And then she told me the theme — fashion is art.”
“These designers are true artists,” she said. “[Elsa] Schiaparelli was best friends with Salvador Dalí, and his medium was a canvas, and hers was clothing. It’s going to be incredible to see what everyone wears and to be able to really honor all these designers. I cannot wait.”
