Lindsey Vonn is back in action and healthier than ever, following her devastating crash at the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics in February that left her in hospital for weeks.

The 41-year-old looked incredible in a series of vacation snaps posted to social media, which saw her soaking up the sun in the Mediterranean and enjoying time off.

Lindsey stunned fans with her toned bikini body

In one photo, Lindsey was pictured standing on a paddleboard, clad in a tiny red bikini that showcased her enviable abs, as she smiled for the camera. Another picture featured the Olympian throwing up a peace sign as she prepared to partake in water sports, dressed in a black bikini and a life vest.

“Been on the move…” she wrote in the caption, as her fans rushed to the comment section to share the love. “What a beautiful champion you are! Look at you go!!!” said one, while another added: “Beautiful inside and out.” A third wrote: “On the board you look about 21!” while another chimed in: “Looking awesome.”

The Olympian crashed at the women’s downhill final

Lindsey has come a long way since the horrific accident that left her with a complex tibia fracture and a broken ankle, both of which required several surgeries and months of rehab.

The champion retired from alpine skiing in 2019 due to extensive injuries, before making an incredible comeback in 2024. Just nine days before racing in the women’s downhill final event at the Olympics, she ruptured her ACL.

At the final on February 8, Lindsey clipped a gate just 13 seconds into her run and had to be airlifted off the mountain due to her injuries. She almost lost her left leg due to compartment syndrome, which occurs when painful pressure builds up in the muscles and restricts blood flow.

“Everything was in pieces,” she said on Instagram. “Compartment syndrome means there’s too much trauma in one area of the body, so there’s too much blood, and it gets stuck. It crushes everything in the compartment; all the muscles, nerves, and tendons all kind of die.”

Thankfully, her doctor performed a fasciotomy, released the intense pressure and saved her leg.

Getting back on the horse

The blonde beauty told E! News in July that she still had “a long way to go” in her recovery.

The 41-year-old is still on the road to recovery

“I still have no ACL, so I need to fix that. I need to get all the metal out of my leg, and then we’ll assess,” she told the outlet. “I may not have done everything that I wanted to do, but I’ve done a lot, and I have to be proud of myself for that.”

“I was so low; I just felt like no matter what I did, I wasn’t making progress, and I was crying a lot…[but] I think I’ve trusted myself more than I thought I could,” she continued.

She was back in the gym just weeks after the crash

“In the end, when you’re recovering from something, there is no option; there’s no failure in rehab, you have to keep doing it. I’ve stuck it out.” Lindsey hit a major milestone in March when she returned to the gym, and later shared her joy at being able to work out at full capacity in June.

“The face I make when I can actually work out in the gym!” she wrote on social media. “Makes me so happy and excited I can’t even put it into words!”
