March always feels like a bit of a reset in London. The cosy, candlelit months start to fall away and the city slowly shifts towards brighter days – something I couldn’t be happier about. My weekend plans and date nights are already following suit, swapping snug corners and comfort food for playful, colourful interiors and menus that feel fresher and lighter.

With Mother’s Day landing on Sunday 15th, there’s also a welcome excuse for florals everywhere, and maybe the most classic celebration of them all – an afternoon tea. Elsewhere, there’s a very exciting hotel opening in Bayswater this month. Even if you’re a Londoner with no need for a place to stay, it’s still worth having on your radar thanks to its beautiful spa. Consider this your little black book for luxury in London in March 2026.

Daphne’s

Chelsea

Daphne’s beautiful conservatory-style dining room is the epitome of elegance, but it’s also warm and welcoming. The Italian restaurant has touches of a Milanese trattoria and has been a neighbourhood institution since the 1960s. Tucked just off the King’s Road, on the pretty streets between Sloane Square and South Kensington, you don’t need to live in South West London for it to be worth the trip. Perfect for Mother’s Day, a date night or just a leisurely weekend lunch, the menu leans into classic Italian cooking with perfectly made pasta, seasonal antipasti and succulent steaks, while the wine list is – as you’d expect – excellent.

Simpson’s In The Strand

Covent Garden

After more than six years, one of the city’s oldest restaurants reopens this month, bringing a sense of Edwardian sophistication back to London dining. First opened in 1828 as a chess playing coffee house, you can still spot subtle motifs nodding to its storied past. Simpson’s In The Strand became a landmark for English roasts, silver carving trolleys, and British desserts, and the Grand Divan has been restored beautifully, while new spaces like Nellie’s Tavern offer cocktails and late night drinks. It’s the perfect choice for a celebratory lunch, a post‑theatre dinner, or just a chance to visit one of London’s most iconic tables.

Six Senses London

Bayswater

You’ve likely heard of luxury hospitality brand Six Senses, which already has hotels across the world, from Bali to the Maldives and Ibiza. Known for its pioneering approach to wellness and sustainability, I recently visited the Kyoto resort and completely fell for the serene feel of the place. The latest opening – and the UK’s first – has now arrived in London, set within the original Grade II-listed Whiteley building in Bayswater, and it’s a beautiful space. Even if you’re not in the market for an overnight stay, the spa alone makes it worth a visit, with everything from biohacking treatments to more traditional therapies, plus an impressive indoor swimming pool.

Claridge’s

Mayfair

For Mother’s Day, few London treats feel as fitting as afternoon tea at Claridge’s. There’s something special about walking through those entrance doors anyway, but the real magic happens in the Foyer & Reading Room, where a live pianist plays in the background. The tea list is carefully curated, with everything from the Claridge’s Blend to rare single-origin varieties, while Champagne and Rosé upgrades add a celebratory touch. For food, expect dainty finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones with their signature jam and Cornish clotted cream, and a rotating selection of delicate pastries, all served on the hotel’s signature jade-and-white china. For those who want something a little more substantial, there’s also a special three-course Mother’s Day menu available on Sunday 15th.

Brasserie of Light x 111SKIN

Marylebone

Located on the top floor of Selfridges and known for its sparkling Art Deco interiors and modern British menu, Brasserie of Light is always worth a visit. This month is a particularly good time to go, as they’ve partnered with Champagne house Perrier Jouët and luxury skincare brand 111SKIN. Diners can order Champagne cocktails and seasonal desserts, each paired with a 111SKIN Black Diamond gift. Over Mother’s Day weekend, guests will also receive a complimentary Jardin Noir cocktail and gift alongside the curated set menu. I’ve used the Black Diamond masks and can confirm they’re game-changing.
