The Hollywood It-Girl of the moment, Margot Robbie, made headlines after she revealed at the tender age of 24, she, along with her flatmates and, at the time, her future husband, Tom Ackerley, were kicked out of the iconic Clapham nightclub, Infernos.
Appearing on the Table Manners podcast with hosts Jessie Ware and her mum, Leni, the Aussie-born actress explained: “We were doing a job in Belgium where I met them (her roommates in Clapham), and they would tell me about the infamous Infernos, ‘this place is so fun, you can’t get kicked out of there, you can do anything in Infernos, and you can’t get kicked out.
She continued: “And I was like, ‘wow, that sounds like paradise’, and so we all had a weekend in London when the job was done, and of course, we went to Infernos, and within about 15 minutes, we got kicked out.”
Despite her rocky start to her relationship with the legendary club, Infernos told HELLO! that the Critics’ Choice Award-winning actress is “Infernos royalty.”Lisa Love from Guest Services of Infernos explained, “Margot Robbie is Infernos royalty. So much so that we have an official blue plaque commemorating her time on our dance floor up in the club.
She is forever welcome on our carpet, and, as our only gold card holder, her legacy remains legendary.” Infernos certainly couldn’t love their association with the Wuthering Heights star, and on the aforementioned podcast, Margot was presented with a certificate which entitles her to “unlimited queue jumping” and “access to [their] carpeted dance floor” which is “valid forever.”
