Day 15 of Marius Borg’s bombshell criminal trial opened with fresh drama inside an Oslo courtroom. The 27-year-old, who is facing 38 charges, including four counts of rape, and remains in pretrial detention, asked to address the court at the start of Wednesday’s session. Through his legal team, the son of Princess Mette-Marit claimed he had received information that his ex-girlfriend, Nora Haukland, secured four million Norwegian kroner, roughly €350,000, in a deal with Netflix.
According to Norwegian outlet VG, which is covering the proceedings live, Borg told the court he learned of the alleged agreement in a phone call after returning to prison and said he wanted to make the information public. He suggested the situation appeared “absurd,” while adding that he did not want to speculate about financial motives.
Netflix previously acquired the rights to Princess Märtha Louise’s wedding to Durek Verrett and turned it into a romantic feature, adding fuel to the courtroom speculation.

Haukland’s representative swiftly denied the claim. “That is not true,” Rebecca Goodchild told VG. She confirmed that production companies linked to various streaming platforms had made inquiries but said Haukland rejected them all.
VG also reported that Borg named a friend of Haukland’s as the source of the alleged information. The friend denied having any contact with him. The accusations come after two emotionally charged days of testimony.
Nora Haukland Testifies About Alleged Abuse in Royal-Linked Case
On Tuesday, Haukland, who dated Borg from spring 2022 until summer 2023, described a relationship she characterized as marked by violence, manipulation and what she called “love bombing.” She detailed multiple alleged incidents involving aggressive and threatening behavior.
One of the most striking claims involved Haukland’s alleged conversation at Skaugum, the official residence of Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit, where she warned the royal couple that Borg needed help. According to her account in court, she urged them to intervene and consider rehabilitation.
Crown Prince Haakon and Princess Mette-Marit Mentioned in Court
Borg reacted emotionally to that testimony. When he took the stand Wednesday, VG reported that he appeared shaken and at times tearful. He described the allegations involving his parents as “absurd” and defended both his mother and stepfather, saying no one had worked harder to support him. The presiding judge briefly paused the proceedings to allow him to compose himself.
He also said his biological father, Morten Borg, who was present in court, had treated Haukland with kindness.
Borg disputed key parts of Haukland’s narrative, telling the court that the relationship was volatile “on both sides” and alleging that she had also been physically aggressive. He further suggested that tensions between them stemmed from what he described as her desire for public attention, while he preferred to stay out of the spotlight.
Reality TV Talks and Fame Dispute Surface During Cross-Examination
During cross-examination, Haukland’s attorney asked whether he had ever been involved in discussions about reality shows or television productions. Borg acknowledged that the topic had been discussed during their relationship and claimed she encouraged him to pursue greater public exposure, even suggesting a television series about his childhood.
The high-profile trial continues in Oslo as both sides dig in over sharply conflicting accounts of their turbulent relationship.
