Mark Consuelos celebrated his 55th birthday on March 30, and the milestone was sweetly marked with an adorable childhood photo shared on social media by his wife, Kelly Ripa.
The snap captured the television star as a young boy, beaming in a party hat as he posed for a birthday photo. In the picture, he looked strikingly like his son, Michael Consuelos. The post included a series of childhood photos of Mark, alongside present-day snaps of him posing with his children on vacation and blowing out the candles on his birthday cake.
“Happy birthday @instasuelos a man who loves cake and party hats more than most people, and I love you,” penned Kelly in the caption. Mark flocked to the comments section to reply to his doting wife with a playful message. “I love you !!! Thank you … I do love cake more than most,” he wrote.
Kelly and Mark tied the knot in 1996, when they eloped in Las Vegas a year after meeting on the set of the soap opera All My Children. They went on to welcome kids Michael, 28, Lola, 24, and Joaquin, 22 together.
Michael, the couple’s eldest son, currently lives in Brooklyn while working on the production side for Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New York and The Real Housewives of New Jersey and has also worked as a production assistant on the sitcom The Goldbergs.
Lola is currently pursuing a career in music in London. Meanwhile, Joaquin, who is represented by CAA & Untitled, is set to portray the character Colby in Hulu’s upcoming pilot Foster Dade, adapted from Nash Jenkins’ novel Foster Dade Explores the Cosmos.
The couple have previously shared an insight into their children’s different personalities, with Mark sharing that Joaquin is “a little reserved” and when it comes to watching LIVE he likely wouldn’t.
“Joaquin’s a little reserved. But he would turn it on,” the Riverdale actor said. “He’s a drama student and he could turn it on for that hour, but I think he probably wouldn’t want to do that.”
Mark turns 55
During the March 30 episode of LIVE, Mark opened up about reaching his mid fifties. “I feel good. I feel better now than I did 10 years ago, which is interesting,” he shared.
The television star became visibly emotional during the show when a AI video featuring their dog Lina, who was adopted in 2021, was played. “Are you crying?” asked Kelly. Mark confessed: “Is it weird that I got emotional? I got emotional. Who am I? What’s happened to me? That’s the nicest thing. Thank you. I needed that.”
Kelly joked: “They worked with Lina in Central Park. They worked with her for hours to get her to talk out loud like that,” as Mark replied: “Aww, so sweet.”
