Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos just celebrated their Christmas episode on “Live with Kelly and Mark,” where they shared some of the highlights of the stars and celebrities that have been featured on the holiday segment over the years. One of them was Ryan Seacrest.
“Doing the Christmas show was one of the highlights of the year. I remember each year looking forward to it so much,” said Seacrest.
“I mean, we would have Santa of course, we had Mariah Carey, we would have a choir sometimes.” Seacrest was one of the show’s co-hosts, working with Ripa for some time.
Seacrest revealed that his favorite segment from the episode was the fact that they would host the episode in their onesies.
“So comfortable to do a show in a onesie, and we had a chance to do it every single Christmas episode,” he said, while clips of Ripa and Seacrest played. “I will miss that. I will be watching in my onesie at home.”
Afterward, Consuelos commented on the onesies. “Aww. We didn’t do a onesie,” he said.
“No, now that you’re here, we have to look elegant,” said Ripa.
“No more onesies.”
Ripa and Consuelos said goodbye to the studio
The Christmas episode also marks the end of Ripa and Consuelos’ tenure at their studio in the Upper West Side in New York, which has been the home of “Live” for the past 40 years.
“A building is concrete, steel, windows, walls, and floors. But sometimes a building is more than that. Sometimes, a building is home,” said Consuelos.
Ripa added that they “have a lot of history here on the corner of 67th and Columbus.”
“We’ve had so much fun and collected so many special memories. We may be leaving this building soon, but we’ll never forget Live‘s first home,” said Ripa.
