As an actor, author, and filmmaker, Ethan Hawke is certainly one of Hollywood’s most prolific (and absolutely underrated!). But as a dad, he takes the cake even more so.
The star, 55, has been in the spotlight for over four decades, making his film debut at the age of just 14 in 1985’s Explorers, breaking into the mainstream just four years later with Dead Poets Society.
He has since appeared in some of film’s most beloved franchises, indies and blockbusters, most recently receiving his fifth Academy Award nomination for his turn in Blue Moon.
But 2026 is already turning out to be a big year for the actor as a dad. Take a walk down memory lane with HELLO! and meet Ethan Hawke’s four kids, shared with his two wives…
In July 1998, Ethan and then wife Uma Thurman welcomed their first child, daughter Maya Ray Thurman-Hawke. Ethan and Uma were married from 1998 to 2005. And just like her parents, Maya is already one of Hollywood’s brightest names.
She started her career as a model, making her screen debut in a BBC adaptation of Little Women in 2017. She became a household name in 2019 with her breakout role as Robin Buckley in Netflix’s Stranger Things. She has since starred in movies like Do Revenge (2022), Asteroid City, Maestro (both 2023), and Inside Out 2 (2024).
Maya is also a musician, heavily inspired by the folk genre, and has released three studio albums so far (with a fourth coming in May of 2026). She frequently collaborates with her husband Christian Lee Hutson, who she tied the knot with on Valentine’s Day 2026, with both Ethan and Uma by her side.
In January 2002, Ethan and Uma welcomed their son Levon Roan Thurman-Hawke. After graduating from Brown University with a philosophy degree, Levon ventured into acting as well, making his on-screen debut in 2022 with an appearance in one of his sister’s music videos.
He made his film debut in 2023’s Wildcat, also appearing in the TV show The Crowded Room in a recurring capacity the same year. He has since appeared in 2024’s Blink Twice and 2025’s Marty Supreme, next set for Girls Like Girls in June of 2026. In 2024, he made his directorial debut with the play Picture Day, which he also wrote.
In June of 2008, Ethan married Ryan Shawhughes, who had briefly worked as a nanny to his two kids with Uma. And a month after, they welcomed their first daughter, Clementine Jane Hawke.
While Clementine and her younger sibling don’t live in the public eye like Maya and Levon, they’re all very close. Uma and Ethan maintain an amicable co-parenting relationship as well. She made her first public appearance in 2021 (virtually) as her dad presented an award at the 36th Santa Barbara International Film Festival.
She has made a few more public appearances since then, the latest being at the 41st Santa Barbara International Film Festival in February of 2026. She also joined her siblings in Maya’s 2022 performance film Luna Moth.
Indiana Hawke was born in July of 2011, the youngest of Ethan and Ryan’s two daughters. Just like Clementine, she eschews the spotlight, but has also made a few public appearances with her dad as well.
Her proud dad has gushed about her (and her older sister) showing an interest in music and Hollywood, performing in a lockdown singalong with Maya and Levon as well. In February of 2026, Indiana was also her father’s date to the 98th Oscar Nominees Luncheon, celebrating his nod for Blue Moon.
