Meet Giannis Antetokounmpo’s rarely-seen wife Mariah and their four children

While her husband is one of basketball’s biggest global stars, Mariah Riddlesprigger has built an impressive life of her own. A former collegiate volleyball player at Rice University, she later turned her focus to business, launching her loungewear brand Sincerely, Mariah in 2021.

“I was like, this is something I need to do for me, I know this will help me feel more like me again,” she told the Wisconsin Rapids Tribune. 

“It’s stuff you can wear around the house, you can wear just running to the store,” she added. “I’m big on comfort. If you see me around Milwaukee, I’m most likely in yoga pants or sweats and a sweatshirt. That’s my go-to, so I don’t want to stray too far from who I am.”

Giannis and Mariah welcomed their first child, son Liam, in 2020, marking the beginning of their journey into parenthood. As the eldest of four, Liam has grown up alongside his father’s rise to global superstardom, often appearing in sweet family moments shared online.

Despite his demanding career, Giannis has made it clear that fatherhood comes first. He has frequently spoken about the importance of fatherhood, telling Jim Paschke in an interview that his children take priority. “If my son asked me, ‘Dad, when are you going to retire and play more with me?’ I’d retire right now,” the 31-year-old said.

Just a year later, in 2021, the couple expanded their family with the arrival of their second son, Maverick. With two young boys under two, life quickly became a lively and energetic household.

Maverick, like his older brother, has largely been kept out of the spotlight, but he is sometimes seen courtside with his dad or on glimpses of family life on his parents’ social media.

In August 2023, Giannis and Mariah marked Maverick’s 2nd birthday with a joint Instagram post with cute photos and videos of their second son..

“Happy happy birthday to our favorite sour patch baby!” the couple wrote in the caption. “The joy and smiles this little boy brings to this world is unmatched. We love you so so so much our little hungry hungry hippo.”

In 2023, Giannis and Mariah welcomed their first daughter, Eva, bringing a new dynamic to the family. Her arrival marked a shift from a household of boys to a more balanced mix, something Giannis has embraced wholeheartedly. 

“Daddy’s Little Girl and Brothers’ Baby Sister,” Giannis wrote on Instagram when announcing his daughter’s birth.The couple had first announced they were expecting their third baby together in May. In a joint post, they shared a photo of themselves and their two boys in front of a balloon arch and a sign that said “Baby.” 

The family grew once more in May 2025 with the arrival of their youngest child, daughter Aria. With four children under the age of five, Giannis and Mariah now lead an undeniably busy home life – one that stands in stark contrast to the high-pressure world of the NBA.

“I feel like it’s even more of a blessing because we get to do this together, it’s a partnership and I have a very good partner,” Giannis told CBS in a 2023 interview.

The couple also share a strong philanthropic drive. In 2022, they founded the Charles Antetokounmpo Family Foundation, named in honour of Giannis’ late father. The organisation supports communities across Nigeria, Greece and the United States, reflecting the family’s global roots and commitment to giving back.

With Giannis recently shutting down trade rumours and reaffirming his commitment to the Bucks, the conclusion of this challenging season is merely a prelude to the next major chapter for the star, especially with his growing young family cheering him on from the sidelines.
