Meet NBA superstar Steph Curry’s entrepreneur wife Ayesha and their 4 kids — plus her A-list circle of friends

Steph Curry is one of NBA’s biggest stars, widely regarded as the greatest shooter in basketball history and popularizing the three-point shot. But his wife, Ayesha, also has an impressive career, as a businesswoman, chef, and mom to four young kids.

Ayesha was born on March 23, 1989 in Ontario, Canada, but at the age of 14 moved to North Carolina with her parents. She was always interested in the entertainment industry, appearing in the music video for Suga Prince when she was 12.

When did Ayesha and Steph meet?

Ayesha first crossed paths with Steph when they were teenagers attending the same church youth group in North Carolina; in a twist of fate, Steph had always spent some years as a teenager in Toronto, 20 miles south of where Ayesha was raised.

After graduation Ayesha moved to Los Angeles, and began to work on her acting career, appearing in the direct-to-DVD film Love for Sale (2008), as well as the drama series Whittaker Bay, which aired for eight episodes.

It was during a visit to Hollywood for an awards show during his college career that Steph and Ayesha reconnected, and she decided to return to Charlotte to be closer to Steph, who was playing at Davidson College.

Wedding bells for Ayesha and Steph

Ayesha and Steph tied the knot on July 30, 2011, and in lieu of gifts asked guests to make a donation to ThanksUSA, a non-profit organization that provides college scholarships for the children of the men and women of the United States Armed Forces.

Ayesha’s four kids with Steph

Ayesha and Steph are parents to four children: two daughters and two sons.

Their three eldest are all born in July; they welcomed eldest, Riley, now 14, on July 19, 2012, and second daughter Ryan, 11, on July 10, 2015. Son Canon was born on July 2, 2018.

Youngest Caius broke the tradition, born on May 11, 2024.

Actress turned foodie

Ayesha began to gain recognition in her own right when she launched a footblod and youtube channel featuring family recipes, lifestyle content, and family vlogs.

In 2016 she began hosting Ayesha’s Home Kitchen on Food Network, and has appeared as a judge or host on programs such as Chopped Junior, Guy’s Grocery Games, The Rachael Ray Show, Family Food Fight, and About Last Night.

Her love for food and cooking has also led to multiple New York Times bestselling .cookbooks, including The Seasoned Life (2016) and The Full Plate (2020).

Ayesha also formed a friendship with chef Michael Mina, and they launched a Bay Area pop-up that in 2017 became International Smoke; it closed in May 2026.

A-list friends

Through Michael, Ayesha met Lindsay Lohan with the pair first spending time together in Dubai, where Lindsay lives.

Their first friend date was supposed to take place over an hour-long dinner reservation but they spent all night talking, and in 2024 Lindsay asked Ayesha to star alongside her in the 2024 movie Irish Wish.

“I am a super introvert, and so in my adulthood I haven’t made adult friends,” Ayesha told People. “It was just wild meeting somebody that I got along with so well, and we had so many common interests right away, so it was cool.”

Ayesha has also become friends with former First Lady Michelle Obama, with the pair partnering on FLEZi Nutrition, a public benefit company aimed at making healthier, lower-sugar food and beverage options for children.

Steph met President Barack Obama when he began giving speeches at Capitol Hill, and then visited the Oval Office during Obama’s term. The two remained friendly, and began golfing together, leading to Ayesha and Michelle bonding.

Sweet July

Using her business acumen, Ayesha has also successfully founded her own award-winning lifestyle brand Sweet July.

It now includes a brick-and-mortar café in Santa Monica, a brick and morter store in Oakland, a quarterly magazine, and a publishing house, as well as vegan-friendly skincare products that are believed by Oprah Winfrey.

Philanthropic spirit

In July 2019, Syesha and Steph founded their Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation in Oakland, California, a non-profit organization focused on improving the well-being of children through access to nutrition, education, and physical activity.

In six years, the pair have helped to invest over $90 million in the Oakland Unified School District and surrounding communities, deliver more than 25 million meals to children and families, help to modernize libraries and cafeterias, renovate schoolyards and gymnasiums, and expand access to youth sports.

Ayesha has also spoken in front of the U.S. House Committee on Rules on behalf of No Kid Hungry, the organization working to end child hunger in the US. 

Ayesha’s speech advocated for strengthened federal nutrition programs, sharing: “Charities alone cannot fill all the gaps to make plates full and children whole. Congress, kids need your help.”

Her testimony helped to enact the permanent “SUN Bucks” program to give eligible families grocery funds during summer, and create an updated version of Thrifty Food Plan, increasing SNAP benefits on average of 21%.
