Yellowstone star Hassie Harrison has joined Stephen Amell on the rebooted series of Baywatch, taking on a role that was once popularized by Pamela Anderson. Hassie, 35, will play Nat, “a former foster kid turned Olympic athlete who is the gold standard when it comes to lifeguarding,” reads the character description.
“Brilliant, driven, and fiercely loyal, she’s the right hand and closest friend of protagonist Hobie Buchannon (Stephen Amell), Nat holds everyone to the same high standards she has for herself, which sometimes gets in the way of her relationships on and off the beach.”
Pamela found fame as CJ Parker in the original 1990s series, with CJ known for her own bubbly personality, bravery, and determination.
CJ was a skilled lifeguard, known as one of the most experienced members of the team, and the right hand of Mitch Buchannon (whom she saw as a father figure), played by David Hasselhoff.
Hassie found fame in Yellowstone as Laramie, but she also found love, as she met now-husband Ryan Bingham on the show. Ryan played her on-screen love interest, Walker.
The pair married in 2024 at the bride’s family home in Dallas, Texas, almost a year after confirming they had taken their love off the screen. Inviting fans into their wedding weekend via a feature in Vogue, Hassie, who has also appeared in Tacoma FD, and Tires, revealed that she gave guests the theme of “cowboy black tie,” and she herself went for a chic Western gown – two of them, in fact.
“I knew I wanted Western, but it had to be elegant Western, with tones of worn leather, delicate lace, and a soft, blush color palette,” she noted. “Every choice was a reflection of us, and getting to witness it all come to life was incredible.”
The new Baywatch series follows Stephen’s Hobie Buchanan, the son of the legendary lifeguard Mitch. Set to premiere this September on Fox, the series will open when Charlie, the daughter Hobie never knew existed, shows up on his doorstep eager to carry on the Buchannon family legacy.
Charlie has arrived from a complicated home life in Galveston, Texas. “Fearless, passionate, and occasionally reckless, Charlie has all the makings of a Buchannon legend. She has a lot to learn, however, and the father she never met might be exactly the mentor she’s always needed,” reads the description.
Jessica Belkin will star as Charlie, while Thaddeus LaGrone has also joined as series regular Brad, and David Chokachi will reprises his OG role of Cody Madison.
Synonymous with red swimsuits, slow-motion beach runs and beautiful people, Baywatch became a global phenomenon after premiering in 1989, with over a billion people tuning in to watch the lifeguards navigate the ups and downs of beach life.
The show catapulted its stars, including David Hasselhoff and Pamela, to fame and continues to have an incredible cultural impact to this day.
The series earned itself multiple spin offs, as well as a reboot movie in 2017 starring Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron
“Daring ocean rescues, pristine beaches, and iconic red bathing suits are back, along with a whole new generation of Baywatch lifeguards, who navigate complicated, messy personal lives in this action-packed reboot that demonstrates there’s the family you’re born into and the family you find,” reads the logline for the 2026 series.
