Megan Thee Stallion had to end her Broadway performance short. The rapper, who’s currently leading the Broadway show “Moulin Rouge! The Musical,” had to be rushed to the hospital after feeling “very ill” mid-show.
A spokesperson shared a statement. “During Tuesday night’s production [of Moulin Rouge! The Musical], Megan started feeling very ill and was promptly transported to a local hospital, where her symptoms are currently being evaluated,” they said. “We will share additional updates as more information becomes available.”
Megan’s hairstylist, Kellon Deryck, shared a statement on social media. “Everyone say a prayer for Megan, we are all at the hospital,” he wrote.
A journalist who was watching the show discussed her experience on X, sharing that Megan appeared onstage for the opening scenes and that the show was stopped mid-performance. “They just stopped moulin rouge mid show, apologized to the audience and said ‘stay inside and seated,'” she wrote. The show continued with Megan’s understudy for the remainder of the performance.
In February of this year, it was announced that Megan was making her Broadway debut as the first female Zidler in “Moulin Rouge! The Musical” for an eight week engagement. She’s scheduled to perform through May 17th.
