Meghan Markle and Prince Harry enjoyed a glamorous night out at an exclusive, star-filled gathering hosted by Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were spotted at a glamorous evening event held at Sarandos’ Montecito home, which he shares with his wife Nicole Avant, on Friday, April 10. The occasion was a tastemaker celebration for Beef season 2.
Meghan turned heads in a chartreuse Heidi Merrick “Gale” gown, styled with strappy Jimmy Choo heels. Harry, 41, kept things classic in a navy suit paired with a white button-down shirt.
The guest list included plenty of big names, such as Beef season 2 stars Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, and Charles Melton. Katy Perry, Justin Trudeau, Orlando Bloom, and The Bear actor Lionel Boyce were also in attendance, among others.
During the evening, Meghan and Harry were all smiles as they posed for photos with Sarandos and Avant. In one snapshot, Meghan and Avant are seen holding hands, while another shows them sharing a warm embrace. Their appearance at the Netflix event comes after a March 17 Variety report claimed there was tension between the couple and the streaming platform. Both the Sussexes and Netflix had already pushed back on those claims.
In a letter to Variety, the couple’s attorney Michael J. Kump addressed the rumors, writing in part, “Meghan texts and speaks with Mr. Sarandos regularly, and has been to his home.”
Netflix Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria also responded during the “Next on Netflix” event on March 18, telling the audience, “Don’t believe whatever you read.” After encouraging “a little fact-checking,” Bajaria said Netflix continues to work with Meghan and Harry and currently has projects with them “in development on the TV and film side,” noting that “deals come and go all the time.”
“I guess there’s no juicy story there,” she added.
Just a few days after the Variety report, Meghan and Harry revealed plans to co-produce a new polo-focused drama series for Netflix through their company Archewell Productions. According to Deadline, the series will be set in the “high-flying equestrian town” of Wellington, Florida, and will follow “the messy dynamics between two rival teams and the families that lead them.”
The show is reportedly inspired by Harry’s “passion project,” POLO, a docuseries that debuted on Netflix in December 2024 and received underwhelming ratings.
Last year, Netflix also confirmed that Meghan and Harry extended their partnership with the platform through Archewell Productions, signing a multi-year first-look deal for film and television. The agreement includes projects like The Wedding Date, based on Jasmine Guillory’s novel, and Meet Me at the Lake, adapted from Carley Fortune’s book.
